  • Patent number: 8073203
Abstract: A system and a method for generating effects in a webcam application are provided. The method includes identifying a first object and a second object in a video image. The method also includes adding a first user-created object to the video image to create an altered video image and adding a second user-created object to the altered video image to further alter the altered video image. Other steps included are associating the second user-created object with the second object; identifying a movement of the second object; and moving the second user-created object in the altered video image in accordance with the association of the second user-created object with the second object. The first object is a static object, and the first user-created object is manually movable. The movement of the second user-created object in association with the second object is independent of a movement of the first user-created object.

  • Publication number: 20090153682
Abstract: Included are embodiments for reducing undesirable motion in a video. At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving a plurality of video frames that comprise at least one segment of a video, the plurality of video frames being captured by a capture device and determining a maximum undesired movement of the capture device for the plurality of video frames during the at least one segment. Some embodiments include trimming at least a portion of the video frames according to the determined maximum undesired movement such that the undesirable movement in the video is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7453818
Abstract: Potential forwarding loops in bridged networks are detected. A switch monitors the movement of packet addresses in the forwarding table to different ports. If the port associated with an address changes multiple times in a short time duration, then a potential forwarding loop is detected, and a loop corrector is notified to take appropriate action to correct the problem, such as, but not limited to changing the state of a port to a blocking state or disabling an interface, etc. If there are multiple movements outside the short time duration, they may be correct movements adjusting to the actual reconfiguration of a network, and thus, these movements are effectively filtered out of consideration.

  • Patent number: 6902293
Abstract: A battery-operated lighting device for use with any one of several rechargeable battery packs, each battery pack having a pair of terminals and a different operating voltage. The lighting device includes a casing having first and second parts, a lighting unit including a light bulb located at the first casing part, and a battery chamber at the second casing part for receiving at least part of and locating the battery packs. The light bulb has an operating voltage. A pair of electrical contacts is located in the chamber for making electrical connection with respective terminals of a battery pack located by the chamber. The casing houses an electronic voltage regulating circuit that has an input and an output in electrical connection with the contacts and the light bulb, respectively. The circuit regulates the voltage of the battery pack to substantially the operating voltage of the light bulb for operating the light bulb.
