Patent number: 8990056Abstract: Traffic pattern models of a complex communication system are compared. A normalized transmission parameter is computed for each traffic pattern model. Model parameters are also computed for each traffic pattern model. The model parameters for each traffic pattern model represent anticipated traffic flow through the complex communication system over a predetermined time period. Data representing an actual traffic flow pattern through the complex communication system over the predetermined time period is compared to the model parameters representing anticipated traffic patterns for each model. The normalized transmission parameters for each of the traffic pattern models are also compared.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2012Date of Patent: March 24, 2015Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Stanley Thompson, George Jung

Patent number: 8789494Abstract: An apparatus is provided for monitoring a milking animal during milking of the animal. The apparatus includes a number of productivity sensors, each measuring at least one indicator of productivity of the animal. A number of temperature sensors, including at least two thermographic cameras, measure heat output from different processing areas of the milking animal. A processor receives the heat outputs and productivity indicators, and uses a combination of these to determine a condition of the milking animal. The condition is then indicated in real time at the monitoring apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2011Date of Patent: July 29, 2014Assignee: Smart Farm Technologies LimitedInventor: William Stanley Thompson

Patent number: 8211298Abstract: A method of manufacturing a cast article including a frame that in use of the article defines an aperture; and a further component that is in use retained moveably captive relative to the frame. The method casts the further component and respective first and second frame members, the further component and the frame members being securable together to form the article, and subsequently assembles the frame members and the further component together to form the article. A gully grate results from practicing the method.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2005Date of Patent: July 3, 2012Assignee: Saint-Gobain PamInventors: Alan J. Pendleton, Keith Stanley Thompson, John Neil Pickavance, Steven Peter Baldwin

Publication number: 20070257680Abstract: A programmable system for testing relays and controlling systems is provided. In one embodiment the present disclosure provides a programmable device capable of, for example, testing relays. The device includes a signal generator for generating signals to test relays. The device includes a memory location, and a first program stored in the memory location. The first program supports relay testing. The device includes a versioned program to support relay testing, and a processor in communication with the signal generator and the memory location. The device also includes a routine that is operable by the processor to install a versioned program in the memory location replacing the first program.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2007Publication date: November 8, 2007Applicant: AVO MULTI-AMP CORPORATION DBA MEGGERInventors: Aaron Klijn, Marvin Miller, Francisco Pataro, Michael Willett, Michael Edwards, Terry Elzy, Michael Maahs, John Shanks, Stanley Thompson

Publication number: 20060153744Abstract: The present invention is a device for playing a cartridge for dispersing scented materials into a room. The cartridge generally has a plurality of scent elements supported on a rotatable disk. The device includes a housing, a blower assembly, a platter, a motor, first and second sensors and a control unit. The housing has a cavity for receiving the cartridge and is formed with an air intake and an exhaust port. The blower assembly is mounted within the housing for generating an airflow by drawing air in through the air intake over the cavity to diffuse at least one of the plurality of scent elements out through the exhaust port. The platter is configured to engage the rotatable disk and is rotated by the motor. The platter, first and second sensors and a control unit cooperate to control the rotation of the disk. The device can also include a heating element for activating the scent elements.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2006Publication date: July 13, 2006Inventors: Stanley Thompson, Ricardo Silveira, David Bossa, Jaideep Jayaram, Brice Westring, Keith Fanta, Stephan Bush, Bruce Chang

Patent number: 3994255Abstract: A skirt part is secured for rotation with the stem of a valve, overlying a part of the valve housing. This part of the valve housing carries a rotatable ring which includes a tab. The tab protrudes through a slot in the side of the skirt part. As the stem is rotated to open or close the valve, the skirt part shifts both longitudinally and rotatively relative to the valve housing part to cause the ring to rotate about its valve part with its tab being positioned at various indicative locations within the skirt part slot. In this manner the location of the tab within the skirt part slot provides a visual indication of the operational status of the valve.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1976Date of Patent: November 30, 1976Assignee: Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: William Stanley Thompson
