  • Patent number: 4218966
Abstract: A beverage brewer housing structure wherein improved supporting connections are provided intermediate a base portion and the lower end of an upright rear portion of the housing and between the upper end of the upright rear portion and a cantilevered upper head portion of the housing. The connections are arranged so as to provide a plurality of layers of metal wall portions secured together to define improved rigidified interconnections between the housing portions advantageously adapted for use in such beverage brewer structures wherein relatively heavy weight is provided at the front end of the cantilevered head of the housing. The connections may include a plurality of channels and, in the illustrated embodiment, the channels include both C-section and L-section channels. The channels and interconnecting wall portions of the housing may be secured together by suitable threaded securing elements for facilitated low cost manufacture of the brewer structure.

  • Patent number: 4218965
Abstract: A beverage brewer having a base, an upright rear portion, a head carried in cantilevered fashion from the upper end of the upright portion and including a basin for receiving cold brewing water. A mounting member within the hollow rear support portion carries the valve and a timer for controlling the valve. The mounting member defines a one-piece element further having an upper flange secured to the front wall of the upright portion of the cabinet. The flange is connected to the top of the mounting wall portion carrying the timer by a spacer. The timer is secured to the mounting wall portion. The pressurized water supply includes a flow regulator connected through a conduit and a gooseneck opening into the basin. The mounting member is further secured to a pair of inturned side flanges on the upright portion of the cabinet to be spaced below the brewing head and above the base of the cabinet.

  • Patent number: 4208958
Abstract: A beverage brewer housing structure cooperatively defined by a water heating tank, a portion of a basin overlying the heating tank for receiving poured-in cold water and delivering the water to the heating tank, and a cover overlying the basin. A pour-in drawer may be provided in the cover to be selectively disposable in a retracted disposition within the cover and a pour-in position wherein at least a portion of the drawer is exposed. The cover may be removably secured in the housing structure and in the illustrated embodiment, is secured to the tank.

  • Patent number: 4192227
Abstract: A beverage brewer structure wherein a pour-in basin is provided with an overlying wall member for preventing liquid which may inadvertently pass downwardly through the top wall of the brewer housing from falling into the basin so as to avoid contamination of the water to be used in the brewing operation. The housing may include a top wall having an opening in which is mounted a warming station and the protective structure is arranged to prevent water or liquid from passing downwardly from the warming station opening into the basin. The wall member may be inclined toward an edge portion of the basin so as to cause the undesirable liquid to flow away from the basin. The wall member may be suitably heated as by heat transfer association with the water heating tank of the beverage brewer so as to cause evaporation of the undesirable liquid which may fall thereonto.

  • Patent number: 4128050
Abstract: A beverage brewer structure wherein a warmer station is selectively utilizable separately or in mounted association with the beverage brewing apparatus. The brewing apparatus may include a removable cover which may be secured to the brewing apparatus by a suitable securing structure. When the warmer station is mounted to the brewing apparatus, the securing structure is utilized to jointly secure the warming station to the cover and the cover to the beverage brewing apparatus. When so installed, the securing structure is hidden within the warming station by a removable portion of the warming station.

  • Patent number: 4051839
Abstract: A hot water heater having a heating tank and a superjacent basin for receiving cold water to be delivered to the tank. A duct is provided leading from the basin into the tank for transferring water from the basin to the tank. A heater is provided for heating the water in the tank. Structure is provided in the duct for breaking up lime which may form at the upper level of the water in the tank and cut as a result of a continued heating of the water therein. The lime breakup structure includes a float and a retaining cage for controlling the movement of the float during delivery of cold water from the basin through the duct to the tank. The cage and float are removably carried in the hot water heater for facilitated installation and maintenance.
