  • Patent number: 11673345
Abstract: Described is a ultrasonic welding of laminates, more particular to the use of ultrasonic energy to create stable perforations in a laminate, in particular a laminate that includes a silicone gel. Specifically, a perforation element is provided, that is optionally part of array of perforation elements, which perforation element or array of perforation elements is advantageously used in an ultrasonic welding device and in a process for continuously introducing perforations into a laminate.

  • Patent number: 11559441
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a wound dressing having a substrate, and a wound dressing manufactured by such a method are described. The method has a step of providing a sacrificial layer of material to be perforated by means of a hot pin perforator, in order to remove any molten residues on the heated pins of the hot pin perforator, before the same pins are used to make holes in the substrate. The presented method is cost effective, robust and reduces the risk of contaminating substances being embedded in the substrate during the hole making process.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20140134691
Abstract: Described herein are host cells comprising lactate dehydrogenase activity, lactaldehyde dehydrogenase activity, lactaldehyde reductase activity, propanediol dehydratase activity, and/or n-propanol dehydrogenase activity, wherein the cells are capable of producing n-propanol. Also described are methods of producing n-propanol comprising (a) cultivating the host cells having lactate dehydrogenase activity, lactaldehyde dehydrogenase activity, lactaldehyde reductase activity, propanediol dehydratase activity, and/or n-propanol dehydrogenase activity in a medium under suitable conditions to produce n-propanol; and (b) recovering the n-propanol. Methods of producing polypropylene from the recombinant n-propanol are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050095669
Abstract: The present invention relates to an isolated mutant eubacterium comprising at least one mutation resulting in a substitution of at least one amino acid in the beta-subunit of the RNA-polymerase encoded for by the rpoB-gene providing an altered production of a product of interest when said production of a product of interest is compared to the production of the same product in an isogenic wild type strain grown at identical conditions, wherein the substitution of at least one amino acid occurs at any of the positions 469, 478, 482, 485, or 487 of SEQ ID NO:2, or at the equivalent positions in any eubacterial RNA-polymererase beta-sub-unit family member. Another aspect of the invention relates to a process for producing at least one product of interest in a mutant eubacterium and to a use of the mutant eubacterium according to the invention for producing at least one product of interest.
