  • Patent number: 9414810
Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system includes a probe with a transducer array with at least one transducer element that transmits ultrasound signal and receives echo signals produced in response thereto. The system further includes a console with a controller that controls the at least one element to transmit the ultrasound signals and receive the echo signals, and an echo processor that processes the received echoes and generates images indicative thereof. The system further includes a user interface with at least one control for interacting with the console. The user interface includes at least one recessed physical feature that facilitates identifying, through sense of touch, an operation activated by the at least one control.

  • Publication number: 20150285083
Abstract: A fiber mat for use in the production of a component for a wind turbine, in particular a rotor blade, is provided. The component is curved at least in parts. The fiber mat includes several rovings being arranged side by side and being connected to one another in at least two connection areas, wherein at least one of the rovings is continuous between the at least two connection areas and wherein at least one of the rovings is discontinuous between the at least two connection areas. The fiber mat is advantageous in that the fiber mat can be laid along a curved path without producing wrinkles or crinkles at an inner edge of the fiber mat.

  • Patent number: 8660283
Abstract: A hearing aid is provided having a behind the ear component comprising a casing adapted to cover, accommodate or protect electronics components of the hearing aid. Further the hearing aid has at least one through going opening in the casing element and electronic switching elements placed at the through going opening. According to the invention a plate element is provided, which is mountable in the through going opening and adapted to form, when mounted herein, a surface flush with the casing. This plate element which covers the switches is used when the switches has been disabled such as is often the case with hearing aids for small children.

  • Publication number: 20040258267
Abstract: The invention relates to a microphone unit for use in connection with a communication device, where the microphone unit comprise:—a linear array of two or more microphones (A,B,C,D,);—a signal processing unit which receives the signals from a number of the microphones in the array and which through signal processing provides an output signal with a degree of direction-ality, output means for the signal resulting from the signal processing. According to the invention the microphones (A,B,C,D) are directional microphones of the dipole type mounted with the ports of the dipole pointing in the direction of the linear array thereby enlarging the port spacing of the microphones (A,B,C,D).

  • Publication number: 20020087206
Abstract: An inflatable balloon is disposed into a body cavity and inflated to expand into the body cavity. A subcutaneously implanted, resealable catheter is coupled to the inflatable balloon. The resealable catheter provides repetitive access for an optical fiber disposed through a first lumen to illuminate the inner surface and for a radiation source disposed on the distal tip of a wire to provide repetitive long term, fractionated photodynamic and radiation therapy to tissues adjacent to the inner surface. A light diffusing fluid is disposed in the inflatable balloon. The catheter has a self-healing membrane coupled to and closing its proximal end. An insert is coupled to the proximal end and to the first lumen in the subcutaneous, resealable catheter.
