In specific embodiments, the system and method utilize multiple scales in conjunction with a pain treatment program to provide information regarding pain treatment effectiveness based on recording of pain intensity and pain impact experienced by a subject. The invention further relates to a device for measuring and recording the intensity of pain and the level of pain impact as perceived by a subject.
