Abstract: Methods, network nodes, and user equipment nodes are disclosed that control the operation of applications on user equipment nodes. A method includes receiving user information that identifies a user of the user equipment node (120) and application information that identifies an application that the user has selected for installation on the user equipment node. A user profile is retrieved from a user profile repository (106) using the user information, and an application profile is retrieved from an application profile repository (104) using the application information. Settings configuration information is generated responsive to the user profile and the application profile, and indicates what permissions are to be granted to the application while operating on the user equipment node.

Abstract: An object of embodiments of the present invention is to establish a secure connection from a device to a private network, to which the device belongs, when the device may be located remotely from the private network. This is achieved by locating a server in the private network while reusing existing authorization mechanisms in the network. A target resource is in this private network and a device located outside the private network can access the target resource by using the server and a proxy agent which intermediates a request from the device by using a one time session URL.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for annotating an electronic map. A server receives location information relating to a location of a mobile device. It then determines the location of the mobile device relative to an electronic map. Further information relating to the mobile device is automatically obtained, and used to determine an annotation relating to the electronic map. The annotation can then be associated with a location on the electronic map. Annotations are automatically determined without requiring manual input from a user.
