  • Patent number: 4121742
Abstract: A ladle-rotating turret arrangement to be used in a continuous casting plant has a concrete base block with a hole through it, a central column inserted in the hole with play, carrier arms provided on the column, and two annular discs arranged at the hole at a distance from each other. At least one of the two annular discs is movable relative to the other one approximately perpendicularly to the central column and is fixable relative to the concrete base block. Annular ledges on the central column have spherical faces that rest on the two annular discs.

  • Patent number: 4113003
Abstract: A starter bar head arrangement to be used in continuous casting plants has at least one strand anchoring piece connecting the starter bar head with the crop end of the strand by casting-on inserted in a recess of the starter bar head so that it protrudes therefrom and fixed by a transverse bolt, the recess being open towards the front face of the starter bar head, and the at least one strand anchoring piece is automatically droppable after removal of the transverse bolt and separation of the crop end.

  • Patent number: 4022268
Abstract: A continuous casting plant has a guiding means for the strand. This guiding means, at its upper end, is provided with bolts which can be suspended in hooks on the supporting steel structure. The bolts are secured against being lifted out of the hooks by means of one or more latches which in their closed position engage with the bolts and are pivotably arranged on the supporting steel structure.

  • Patent number: 4000840
Abstract: A continuous casting plant has at least one tundish car movable on a circular arc-shaped pathway. The tundish car is pivotable around a column, centered in the horizontal direction by means of three guiding rollers and secured against tilting in the vertical direction by two vertical supporting rollers. When two cars are used, one of the cars has a cranked longitudinal carrier. The column can be hollow and surround the ladle stand, and it can be vertically separated into two parts.
