Abstract: New substituted pyridylpyrimidines of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 have the meaning given in the description, their preparation, and their use for combating pests.Formula (I) provides a general definition for the new compounds. They can be prepared by analogous processes, for example from suitable pyridylamidine hydrochlorides with suitable enamino ketones.

Abstract: Novel substituted hydroxyalkylpyridines of the formula (I), ##STR1## in which x, A and Ar have the meanings given in the description and their acid addition salts and metal salt complexes and their use for combating pests, in particular in the field of plant protection and in the protection of materials.The compounds of the formula (I) may be prepared according to known processes, for example from suitable cyclopropyl ketones and organometallic pyridine compounds.

Abstract: Substituted oxazolidinones, some of which are known, of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 have the meanings given in the description, are used for combating pests.The new compounds and those which are known can be prepared by analogous processes by reacting suitable substituted isocyanates with suitable oxiranes or by oxidising suitable oxazolidinones.
