  • Publication number: 20120179486
Abstract: The present invention discloses methods, computer program and system to overcome the limitation of the current clinical practice. This is achieved by using information technology and the vast amount of epidemiological data available to create algorithms that calculate the risk or severity profile of an individual with any given disease. The individual profile presents the current condition and/or position of the individual in comparison with the mean base curve of the total population and in accordance with upper and lower risk limits. The individual profile is then fitted with its optimal use of healthcare resources, such as medication, surgery, laser treatment, surveillance and follow-up, to optimize and individualize the health outcome of this individual, and at the same time optimize and individualize the allocation of healthcare resources within the system.

  • Patent number: 5128120
Abstract: New 9-anthrylalkyl compounds having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl group, whereby, however, not more than one of the groups R is an alkyl group; R.sub.1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen or nitro; n is an integer of from 1 to 7, whereby, however, the total number of carbon atoms in the group --CHR--(CHR).sub.n -- does not exceed 8; and X is halogen, an azide group or a succinimidyl group. The new compounds are prepared from 9-anthrylalcohols which are reacted with a compound X--CO--X wherein X is a halogen, and then optionally with compounds giving azide or succinimidyl group. The compounds are used as derivatization reagents for separation and detection purposes.Intermediates for preparation of the above defined 9-anthrylalkyl compounds wherein one R is an alkyl group are 9-anthrylalcohols with the group --CHR--(CHR).sub.n --OH, wherein one R is an alkyl group.

  • Patent number: 4818704
Abstract: The invention relates to a new chiral reagent of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is halogen, an azide group or a succinimidyl group and wherein R is an alkyl group or a trifluormethyl group. The invention further relates to a method for the derivatization, determination and preparation resolution of primary and secondary amino-containing compounds. The method comprises the steps of derivatizing the amino function by the reagent to form diastereomeric carbamates, which are determined by e.g. fluorimetry or absorptiometry after separation by liquid chromatography.

  • Patent number: 4528775
Abstract: A sealing means for a door lacking a threshold comprises a lath of resilient material, which with a substantially plane main portion is attached to the lower edge of door leaf. A head, enlarged with respect to the main portion, is provided with sealing ridges and may be bent in relation to the attachment of the lath, so the ridges will be forced towards the floor. An actuating member, comprising a longitudinally compressible leaf spring, is fitted between the lower edge of the door leaf and the head of the lath, so it extends outside the vertical hinge edge of the door leaf. Just before the door reaches its closed position the leaf spring contacts the door frame, and will then force the portion of the head adjacent to the hinge edge downwards. During the terminal portion of the closing movement the friction between the floor and the downwardly turned portions of the ridges will "roll" the head to full contact with the floor.

  • Patent number: 4317503
Abstract: A sound insulating building element or structural member includes a plurality of parallel sheet elements of which a first, inner, thick element is stiff and has a plurality of internal cavities, a second, inner, stiff element is substantially pervious to air and connected to one main surface of the first, inner element, and an outer, impervious element is arranged at a small distance from the second, inner element in such a manner that substantially the entire outer element can oscillate freely in relation to the second, inner element, the other main surface of the first, inner element being connected to a sheet material having an E-modulus greater than 10.sup.9 and which can be substantially impervious to air, or similar to the second, inner element, can be pervious to air and be connected over an air gap to an outer substantially impervious sheet element.
