  • Patent number: 9346240
Abstract: Disclosed are an open-porous metal foam and a method for manufacturing the same. An open-porous metal foam according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is made of an iron-based alloy including 15 wt % or more of chrome and 5 wt % or more of aluminum. The open-porous metal foam is a semi-product that is formed of iron or the iron-based alloy that does not include chrome and aluminum or includes a smaller amount of chrome and aluminum in the powder when manufacturing, and the surface and the open pore thereof are uniformly coated with the powder of the iron-chrome-aluminum alloy and the organic binding agent. When heat treatment is performed under a reduction atmosphere, sintering is performed.

  • Patent number: 8071505
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalyst support body (100) with a longitudinal axis (103) comprising a honeycomb body (101) and a housing (102), wherein the honeycomb body (101) consists of at least three metal layers (104) arranged one above the other, which are wound with their end surfaces in each case starting from a common centre into layers lying one above the other in the form of a spiral and are secured in the sleeve of the housing (102), wherein the metal layers consist of metal-foam layers, and wherein a metal-foam layer developed as a corrugated sheath (107) is arranged between two planar metal-foam layers (105, 106), wherein attachment sections (108) on the outside of the corrugated sheath (107) connect it to the planar metal-foam layers (105, 106).

  • Patent number: 6068077
Abstract: A power steering system, in particular for motor vehicles, includes a steering valve (15), for controlling a pressure medium for a servomotor, has two inlet seat valves (23, 24) and two outlet seat valves (25, 26), each with one closing body (31; 36). The closing bodies (36) of the outlet seat valves (25, 26) are actuatable via an actuating device as a function of a rotary motion of a steering-wheel shaft connected to an input member (10) of the steering system. The closing bodies (31) of the inlet seat valves (23, 24) are hydraulically pressure balanced with reference to a pressure of a pressure source, and by the force of locking springs (32) they keep the inlet seat valves (23, 24) closed in the neutral position of the steering valve. Each locking spring (32) is supported at one end on a closing body (31) of one of the inlet seat valves (23, 24) and on the other on the actuating device. The outlet seat valves (25, 26) are opened in the neutral position of the steering valve (15).

  • Patent number: 5151241
Abstract: A method and device for shaping tubular workpieces from thermoplastic placs is disclosed. In the method, the workpiece to be shaped is inserted into a mold, heat is applied from the interior of the workpiece to heat the workpiece to the softening temperature of the plastic, this temperature is maintained until the workpiece assumes the shape of the mold, and the workpiece is left in the mold until it has cooled off. A flexible heating core is used to apply heat to the interior of the workpiece. The heating core has an insulating jacket with a sliding layer on its outer wall and a heating conductor winding located within the insulating jacket. A stress relief extends lengthwise in the middle of the heating core and outward of the heating core at one end. A receptacle is provided at the other end of the heating core for the stress relief.
