  • Patent number: 8820238
Abstract: In order to control the cut register of a web (1) in a web-fed rotary press, a pulling device (Z3) which transports the web (1) is changed with regard to its circumferential speed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 24, 2003
Date of Patent: September 2, 2014
    Assignee: manroland AG
    Inventors: Günther Brandenburg, Stefan Geissenberger
  • Patent number: 8181556
Abstract: To control the cutting register of a web in a web-fed rotary press with little expenditure, a specific item of image information or a measuring mark of a printed web is registered by at least one sensor. The sensor generates a registration signal which is supplied to a control device. The registration of the image information or measuring marks is carried out immediately before or on a knife cylinder. A cutting register error is determined from the registration information and the position of the knife cylinder is influenced to correct the determined cutting register error.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 10, 2007
Date of Patent: May 22, 2012
    Assignee: MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG
Inventors: Günther Brandenburg, Stefan Geissenberger, Andreas Klemm
  • Patent number: 7559279
Abstract: In order to control the cut register in multi-web operation in a web-fed press and to control the web tension in a web section, image information or measuring marks from printed webs and web tensions in different web sections are registered by sensors and supplied to a control device. To correct the cut register error of at least one web, either the speed of at least one clamping point located before the knife cylinder and/or the position of the knife cylinder and, to correct the web tension, the speed of at least one further clamping point is changed, so that the actual value of the part and/or total cut register error of at least one web and the at least one web tension arc corrected to the associated predefined set points.

  • Patent number: 7204189
Abstract: To control the cutting register of a web in a web-fed rotary press and to control the tension in a web section, in a manner decoupled from each another, at least one partial cutting register error is controlled at least one web tension is controlled. The press has controlled driven clamping points 0 to n, wherein j+q manipulated variables are used to influence j partial cutting register errors and q web tensions. Circumferential speeds and/or angular positions of clamping points are used as manipulated variables and the partial register error and the web tension in each case are located in the same or in different web sections.

  • Patent number: 7137338
Abstract: To control the cut register of a web in a web-fed rotary press and to control the web tension decoupled from the control of the cut register, a specific item of image information or measuring marks of the printed web are registered by at least one sensor and the web tension is registered by at least one further sensor. The deviation of the position of the printed image with respect to its intended position, based on the location and time of the cut, is determined from the item of image information and is therefore available as actual values and supplied to a control device. The cut register error and the web tension can be influenced in a manner decoupled from each other.

  • Publication number: 20060230968
Abstract: In order to control the cut register (Y18) in multi-web operation in a web-fed press and, independently thereof, to control the web tension in a web section, specific image information or measuring marks from printed webs (BO, BU, BE) and web tensions in different web sections are registered by means of sensors and supplied to a control device—an item of image information or measuring marks from at least one of the printed webs, the said information or marks being suitable for the deviation of the position of the printed image with respect to its intended position, based on the location and time of the cut, that is to say for the cut register error (Y18), is registered before and/or on the common knife cylinder (K8) with the aid of at least one sensor (SE; SO; SU), is evaluated and/or is transformed to form an actual value, which is used for the control of the cut register error of at least one web—and, to correct the cut register error of at least one web, either the speed of at least one clamping point loca

  • Patent number: 5953991
Abstract: A cylinder for a printing press is adjusted away from a printing stock web or an adjacent cylinder by rotation of an eccentric element. The change in position caused by the movement of the eccentric element is compensated by an additional rotating movement superposed on the rotating movement of the cylinder such that the outer surface of the cylinder has no relative velocity relative to the adjacent cylinder or the printing stock web. Compensation is carried out by a regulating circuit to which is supplied the actual rotational angle of the cylinder with respect to the eccentric element and the actual rotational angle of the eccentric element with respect to the side wall or an angular function derived therefrom.
