  • Patent number: 12235621
Abstract: A method for aligning a workpiece in a working space of a machine tool having a numerical control system uses a probe. 3D models of the working space, probe, and workpiece are virtually displayed. The workpiece is positioned in the working space and the virtual workpiece is positioned in the virtual working space so that there is an initial coincidence between positions thereof. The probe is manually positioned relative to the workpiece, wherein a planned probing point and probing direction are selected based on a minimum distance of the virtual probe from the virtual workpiece, and are displayed. Enabling of the probing is based on quality of the planned probing point, and, when enabled, a probing operation is triggered, and coordinates of a probing point are determined. The position of the workpiece is recalculated using these coordinates, and the position of the virtual workpiece is updated.

  • Patent number: 10938304
Abstract: Various embodiments provide a direct current (DC)-DC converter circuit. The DC-DC converter circuit includes a control circuit to switch the DC-DC converter circuit between a charge state, a discharge state, and a tri-state mode. As part of a first control loop, the control circuit may switch the DC-DC converter between the charge state and the discharge state based on the output voltage to provide the output voltage with the target voltage level. Additionally, as part of a second control loop, the control circuit may switch the DC-DC converter between the charge state and the discharge state based on the current through an inductor of the DC-DC converter. The second control loop may provide overcurrent protection for the DC-DC converter. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 8100650
Abstract: Systems and methods use cyclical propellers with dynamic blade angle control to extract power from waves. A control system for such implementations can adapt pitching schedules for the blades of the cyclical propellers for efficient energy extraction and/or to control reactive forces. The cyclical propellers may be installed on the floor of a body of water or other liquid, on a submarine, or on a surface float, and blades may extend vertically or horizontally depending on the character of the waves. Several cyclical propellers can be combined into a single unit operated to minimize net reactive force or torque, to propel the unit horizontally or vertically, and/or to stabilize the unit. Such units can be installed with minimal or no moorings.
