  • Patent number: 11753050
Abstract: An ascent aid on a rail vehicle having a vehicle body includes a step and at least one folding mechanism fastened to the step at one end, as seen in longitudinal direction of the step. The folding mechanism has two lateral rods connecting the step to the vehicle body at hinges. The folding mechanism has a connecting rod additionally connecting one of the lateral rods to the vehicle body at hinges. The connecting rod is split into two parts by a folding hinge. The folding hinge is coupled to an action of force on the folding hinge causing the step to be folded at the hinges between first and second positions relative to the vehicle. In the first position, an ascent to a driver's cab of the vehicle is assisted. In the second position, the step is folded to maintain a predetermined clearance gauge of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11525386
Abstract: A hybrid vehicle has an internal combustion engine and an electric drive, each with a cooling circuit with a heat transfer medium and a cooler. A pre-heating circuit is provided between the cooling circuits and it is thermally coupled to the cooling circuit of the electric drive via heat coupling element as a shared component, for a controlled heat exchange between the heat transfer media of the two cooling circuits. The pre-heating circuit has an electrical auxiliary heater, which is connected to the heat coupling element in series, such that the heat transfer medium of the first cooling circuit likewise flows through the electrical auxiliary heater. The electrical auxiliary heater is arranged and designed such that heat generated by the electrical auxiliary heater can be transferred, where necessary, into at least one of the two cooling circuits.

  • Publication number: 20220063683
Abstract: A snow protection assembly is provided for a coupling region of a rail vehicle. The rail vehicle has, on an end face, a recess which protects against snow, in which recess a coupling of the rail vehicle is arranged. A fixed housing partially extends around the recess. The housing has an opening in the direction of travel of the rail vehicle, from which opening the coupling partially protrudes to enable a process of coupling to an additional rail vehicle. The opening of the fixed housing is peripherally fixedly connected to a first sealing element. A second sealing element is rotatably connected to the coupling, and the second sealing element partially extends around the coupling. The two sealing elements partially overlap in the region of the opening. The two sealing elements are coupled to one another by pressure to protect the opening against the ingress of snow.

  • Patent number: 10428709
Abstract: A method for heating an operating agent for a rail vehicle, particularly for heating a reducing agent for the after-treatment of exhaust gas. A coolant liquid is pumped through a cooling circuit of the internal combustion engine by a pump when the operating agent heating system is in an operating mode and, also in the operating mode, the coolant liquid can be pumped through a main heating circuit by the pump in order to heat the operating agent in a reservoir. In a preheating mode, the main heating circuit for the operating agent is uncoupled in a substantially fluid-mechanical manner from the cooling circuit of the internal combustion engine. The cooling circuit functions as a first sub-circuit of a preheating circuit and the uncoupled main heating circuit functions as a section of a second sub-circuit of the preheating circuit.

  • Patent number: 9784174
Abstract: A rail vehicle has a diesel engine, an engine radiator and a cooling circuit that connects the diesel engine to the engine radiator. A cooling liquid is circulated in the cooling circuit, a cooling liquid temperature of the circulated cooling liquid and an outer air temperature of the atmospheric outer air are detected. The outer air temperature is compared with the outer air limit temperature, the cooling power of the engine radiator is set in such a way that the cooling liquid temperature corresponds to a normal operating temperature if the outer air temperature is less than the outer air limit temperature. The cooling power of the engine radiator is set such that the cooling liquid temperature corresponds to a lower operating temperature below the normal operating temperature if the outer air temperature is greater than the outer air limit temperature.
