  • Patent number: 10346849
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method includes receiving an identification of an intended recipient of a physical package and a personalized message having content based on the identity of the intended recipient. The method further includes identifying a uniform resource locator (URL) comprising a reference to a webpage that displays the personalized message and one or more advertisements regarding products or services related to the physical package. A Quick Response (QR) code encoding the URL comprising the reference to the webpage that displays the personalized message and the one or more advertisements may be generated. The method further includes transmitting the personalized message and the one or more advertisements to the intended recipient via the webpage in response to the intended recipient accessing the URL encoded by the QR code.

Date of Patent: July 9, 2019
    Assignee: CA, Inc.
Inventors: Stefan Ionescu, Steven L. Greenspan, Vincent R. Re, Wei-Jun Kong, Nagavardhan Sogal, Esin Kiris
  • Patent number: 9202477
Abstract: Systems and methods are included for determining a presence of an upcoming reading field during a write mode of a storage device, and initiating a read-while write RWW) mode of the storage device in response to the sensed reading field. Initiating the RWW mode comprises warming up the reader circuitry, generating a signal in response to an end to the write operation, and activating reader bias current in response to the generated signal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 14, 2014
Date of Patent: December 1, 2015
    Assignee: Seagate Technology LLC
Inventors: Bruce Douglas Buch, Stefan Ionescu
  • Patent number: 9015178
Abstract: Apparatuses, Methods and programs are provided. A method may comprise receiving a first request to verify an identifier associated with a destination from a first requester, responding to the request with a response, the response indicating an existence of a physical address associated with the identifier, the response further comprising a list of authorized entities authorized to access information specifying the physical address, receiving a second request from a second requester to access information specifying the physical address associated with the identifier, determining if the second requester is authorized to have access to information specifying the physical address by analyzing the list of authorized entities corresponding to the identifier; and providing the physical address to the second requester if the second requester is authorized.

  • Patent number: 8922935
Abstract: First and second read sensors are coupled in series to a preamplifier via respective first and second signal lines and a common signal line between the first and second read sensors. Independent first and second currents are supplied to the respective first and second read sensors. The first and second currents are varied to maintain respective first and second fixed bias values (e.g., fixed voltage or fixed current) on the first and second read sensors.

  • Publication number: 20140268406
Abstract: Apparatus and method for positional sensing and control. In accordance with some embodiments, a transducer is positioned adjacent a recording medium. The transducer includes a write element, a read element, a heater and a thermally responsive sensor. Power is applied to the heater to establish a selected fly height of the transducer relative to the medium. A contact event between the transducer and the medium is detected responsive to an accumulated plural count of pulses in a bias signal obtained from the thermally responsive sensor.
    Type: Application
