  • Publication number: 20120322393
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of an antenna device for operation in at least two operational frequency bands generally includes a loop element having a feeding end for connection to radio communication circuitry and a grounding end for connection to ground. The antenna device also includes first filtering means connecting the grounding end to ground, and switching means parallel with the first filtering means. The switching means is configured to connect the grounding end to ground parallel with the first filtering means in a first state, to match the loop element to a first operational frequency band of the at least two operational frequency bands. The switching means is configured to connect the grounding end to an open end parallel with the first filtering means in a second state, to match the loop element to a second operational frequency band of the at least two operational frequency bands.

  • Publication number: 20120319909
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of an antenna device generally includes a radiator structure with at least one first radiator element. The antenna device also includes a first feeding connection coupling the radiator structure to a first radio circuit for operation in a first frequency band. The antenna device further includes a second feeding connection coupling the radiator structure to a second radio circuit for operation in a second frequency band. A set of capacitors is connected to the radiator structure. This set includes at least one capacitor where a first end of each capacitor in the set is connected to the radiator structure and a second end is provided at ground potential, at least for the first frequency band. The sum of the values of the capacitors in the set is below 15 picofarads.

  • Publication number: 20120268330
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of an antenna device generally includes a loop element having a length providing loop resonance at a first wavelength, where a resonance frequency of this wavelength is used in a desired frequency band. A capacitance is provided between a first position on the element and ground, thereby dividing the element into a first and a second section. The second section has an inductance that depends on the length and forms a resonance circuit with the capacitance which causes the element to function as a monopole element at the resonance frequency of the resonance circuit. The first position and capacitance are configured for the resonance circuit resonance frequency to lie in the desired frequency band. The first position is configured such that the length of the first section provides a monopole resonance at a second wavelength having one resonance frequency at the resonance circuit resonance frequency.

  • Publication number: 20120249384
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment includes an antenna arrangement for a portable radio communication device comprising an NFC (near field communication) antenna, a BT (Bluetooth) antenna and an FM (frequency modulation) antenna. The NFC antenna, BT antenna and FM antenna are positioned in close proximity to each other and are operable simultaneously. The NFC antenna is fed through a first decoupling filter and is grounded through a second decoupling filter.
