  • Publication number: 20090020992
Abstract: A method of producing a gas generator includes arranging an igniter in an inner chamber surrounded by a housing of the gas generator. The igniter is supported in a first direction on a part of the gas generator and in the first direction opposite a mounting orifice of the housing. The method includes arranging a sealing element in the mounting orifice to seal the mounting orifice. The sealing element presses over a bearing area deformable in the first direction with a force acting in the first direction against a first bearing area of the igniter and forms a gas-tight joint between the sealing element and the igniter. A side of the sealing element facing the part of the gas generator in the first direction abuts against a side of the part of the gas generator to limit deformation of the bearing area of the sealing element in the first direction.

  • Patent number: 6965113
Abstract: A method for distinguishing samples having flourescent particles includes (a) monitoring intensity fluctuations of fluorescence emitted by the particles in at least one measurement volume by detecting sequences of photon counts by at least one photon detector, (b) determining, from the sequences of photon counts, intermediate statistical data involving at least two probability functions of the number of photon counts detected in different sets of counting time intervals, and (c) determining from the intermediate statistical data a distribution of particles as a function of at least two arguments, wherein one argument is a specific brightness of the particles, or a measure thereof, and another argument is a diffusion coefficient of the particles, or a measure thereof.

  • Patent number: 6854357
Abstract: A connecting rod of a crank mechanism is made as a single sheet metal part by shaping without chip removal out of sheet metal. The connecting rod comprises a base sheet (1) that is provided with an upper connecting rod eye (2) and a lower connecting rod eye (3). Each of the connecting rod_eyes (2, 3) has an integral cylindrical stamping (6, 7). The connecting rod further comprises a stiffening collar (8) that is integrally formed out of the base sheet (1) and is configured without interruption on the periphery of the base sheet (1).

  • Publication number: 20030143022
Abstract: A connecting rod according to the invention is joined together from two sheet-metal parts (3, 4). The connecting rod has an upper connecting-rod eye (1) and a lower connecting-rod eye (2). The two sheet-metal parts (3, 4) each have a socket (11, 12) and a collar (7, 8) in each case forming one of the connecting-rod eyes (1, 2), the one collar (7, 8) of the one sheet-metal part (3, 4) engaging in the socket (11, 12) of the other sheet-metal part (3, 4), and the collar (7, 8) of the other sheet-metal part engaging in the socket (11, 12) of the first sheet-metal part (3, 4).

  • Patent number: 6584947
Abstract: In a one-cylinder or multi-cylinder internal combustion engine there is provided in the cylinder cover (7) a drainage duct (12, 14), which at one end opens radially inward of the annular gasket in the region of the inner rim of the cylinder liner (2), and whose outer end is in communication with the intake port (13) or exhaust port (15) in the cylinder cover (7).
