  • Patent number: 6513727
Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid atomizer device for producing aerosols. The device includes a first housing part (A) which includes an inner member (3) of an atomizer nozzle and a first connection for connecting the first housing part (A) to a further housing part to form a nebulizing chamber (1), and further includes a second housing part (B) that includes an outer member of the atomizer nozzle which can be brought into engagement with the inner member (3) to form the atomizer nozzle, and a second connection means (11) that can be brought into engagement with the first connection (9) for connecting the second housing part to the first housing part. The invention is characterized in that a service life indicator (L) is arranged at a place that does not impede the flow passing through the device, but is accessible to the aerosol and a sterilant.

  • Publication number: 20010054421
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for generating an aerosol of an exact dose for inhalation purposes. The inventive apparatus provides a temperature sensor 100 and/or a humidity sensor 200 in order to measure the ambient temperature of the system or the humidity of the air drawn in by the compressor 21. The sensors are preferably arranged adjacently between the outlet of a drying stage 25 and a dispersing nozzle 3. The maximum amount of a medicament that can be absorbed by a predetermined air volume can be determined (detected) by such determination of temperature and humidity. On the basis of this determination result, the supply of the appropriate amount of the medicament-containing liquid is controlled by a control means 5.

  • Patent number: 6000394
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the generation of an exact dose of and making available of an aerosol and which includes: a dispersing nozzle (3) for mixing a liquid containing the effective substance with a gaseous dispersion medium while forming an aerosol, an aerosol drying vessel (4) for buffering and drying the aerosol produced by the dispersion nozzle (3), the aerosol drying vessel (4) being connected to the dispersing nozzle (3) and the aerosol being sprayed from the dispersing nozzle (3) into the aerosol drying vessel 4), a liquid supply apparatus (1) for making available and supplying defined amounts of the liquid containing the effective substance to the dispersing nozzle (3), a dispersion medium supply apparatus (2) for making available and supplying the dispersion medium to the dispersing nozzle (3) at a specified pressure, and a control means (5) connected to the supply apparatus (1, 2) for coordinating and controlling the supply of dispersion medium and the liquid containing the effect

  • Patent number: 5458136
Abstract: An assembly for producing aerosol pulses with a valve block (1), which has a breathing channel (2), an air channel (3) which enters the breathing channel transversely, and an aerosol channel (4) which enters the breathing channel transversely and mechanical, electromagnetic or pneumatic control valves (S1, S2, R), for controlling the supply of air and aerosol through the channels in the valve block. The assembly has a flow figure (5) in the breathing channel in the area of the openings of the air and aerosol channels. The longitudinal axis of the air channel also is laterally shifted with respect to the longitudinal axis of the breathing channel so that a tangential flow against the flow figure is achieved and that the longitudinal axis of the aerosol channel is laterally shifted with respect to the longitudinal axis of the breathing channel so that a tangential flow against the flow figure is achieved.
