    Abstract: A method and system for centrally producing user-specific user interfaces for controlling and selecting interactive media applications are provided. The system has, at each user end, an input unit used to input control signals for controlling and selecting the interactive media applications, and an output unit used to display an appropriate user-specific user interface. Following registration of the input and output units, the control signals are transmitted via a communication network to a central user interface server in the system. The user interface server initiates a user interface production unit which takes the control signals as a basis for generating user-specific elements for the user interface. A mixing component in the system adds non-user-specific elements provided by a database in the system. The user-specific user interface produced is then forwarded from a central streaming server in the system to the output unit and is displayed by the latter.
