  • Patent number: 6678533
Abstract: A method for connecting a call coming into first wireless communication device to a terminal apparatus that can be operated as a wireless terminal apparatus of this wireless communication device and as a mobile radiotelephone terminal apparatus of a mobile radiotelephone network, under the precondition that the current availability of the terminal apparatus in the mobile radiotelephone network and/or in the wireless communication device is stored in both systems. It is checked whether there is present an item of information concerning the availability of the terminal apparatus via the mobile radiotelephone network and, if so, the call coming into the wireless communication device is forwarded to the terminal apparatus in the mobile radiotelephone network, if a delivery is not possible in the wireless communication device.

  • Patent number: 6606495
Abstract: An arrangement and a method with which wireless terminal devices which can usually be reached via a call number of one individual network computer can also be reached when they are located in the wireless communication area of a base station that is connected to another network computer. To this end, connection information is retrieved via a mobility server, and a connection setup to a corresponding network computer in whose radio area the wireless terminal device is located is controlled via that mobility server. The wireless terminal device delivers information, which is transmitted to the mobility server and from which, together with additional information from the network computer or the base station, this server is able to derive the information for the connection setup to the wireless terminal device.

  • Patent number: 6453163
Abstract: A method for restoring subscriber-related information in a database system of a communication network wherein, to restore subscriber-related information in a first database system of a first communication network for subscribers which are registered as subscribers both in the first communication network and in a second communication network, a second database system for storing subscriber data records containing subscriber-related information, and a controller for storing the subscriber-related information from the subscriber data records of the databases of a number of cordless communication systems in a storage device, are provided in the second communication network. The controller is also used for transferring subscriber-related information requested by the first database system to the first communication network.

  • Patent number: 6351648
Abstract: A method for indicating the presence of a text message in a mobile radiotelephone network if the recipient is registered as a subscriber both in the mobile radiotelephone network and in another communication network as a subscriber. It is provided that the availability of the subscriber in the other communication network is stored in the database, which is allocated to the subscriber, of the mobile radiotelephone network, and in wherein message central module communicates a message concerning the presence of a text message for the subscriber to a control module of the other communication network (PISN), and wherein this control module thereupon causes the displaying of an item of information concerning the presence of a text message in the message central module of the mobile radiotelephone network to a terminal apparatus allocated to the subscriber within the other communication network.

  • Patent number: 6205490
Abstract: System for the bidirectional connection of an ELAN and a CLS wide-area network (CLSnet) having an address memory for allocated MAC addresses of the ELAN (ELAN 1, . . . ) and E.164 addresses of the CLS network (CLSnet), having a memory for an E.164 address allocated to the transition to the CLS network (CLSnet), and having a controller in order, dependent on specific conditions, to handover frames coming from the ELAN to the interface to the CLS network in common with the E.164 address belonging to the destination MAC address or, respectively, to discard them, whereby frames having a local broadcast MAC address as destination address are always to be discarded, and in order to hand frames coming from the wide-area network over to the interface to the ELAN.

  • Patent number: 6151506
Abstract: A method for restoring subscriber-related or terminal equipment-related information in the databank system of a mobile radiotelephone network, wherein a control means of a first communication network always communicates subscriber-related or, respectively, terminal equipment-related information to the databank system of the mobile radiotelephone network whenever a subscriber or its terminal equipment can be reached for the first time within the first communication network. The control means also communicates this information to the databank system when more than a defined time duration has elapsed since the last communication of these information.

  • Patent number: 6137799
Abstract: A distinction is made between unicast frames and multicast/broadcast frames for the transmission of information packets between a source LEC of a first ELAN and a destination LEC of a second ELAN. After initiation of a connection setup, unicast information packets are transmitted between source LEC and destination LEC via a wide-area ATM network upon employment of the destination ATM address. Multicast/broadcast information packets are transmitted from the source LEC to the destination LECs via a CLS wide-area network offering a connectionless service. For the transmission of the multicast/broadcast information packets, a specific LEC in every ELAN of an exemplary embodiment is coupled to the CLS network via a bridge or a router. In one exemplary embodiment, the CLS network is employed for determining a destination ATM address of a destination LEC for the unicast transmission.

  • Patent number: 6081836
Abstract: Method for the transmission of information packets between a source LEC of a first ELAN and a destination LEC of a second ELAN, having the following method steps: determination of the destination ATM address by transmission of an address resolution request of the source LEC to the second ELAN via a CLS wideare network offering a connectionless service and resolution of the destination MAC address in the second ELAN into the appertaining ATM address; initiation of a connection setup between source LEC and destination LEC via an ATM network ranking higher than the first ELAN and the second ELAN upon employment of the identified destination ATM address; and transmission of the information packets via the higher-ranking ATM network. In one exemplary embodiment, the determined ATM address is transmitted to the first ELAN via the CLS wide-area network as address resolution response and is transmitted thereat to the source LEC, and the source LEC initiates a connection setup to the destination LEC.

  • Patent number: 5974452
Abstract: Method for the determination of a destination ATM address as reply to an address resolution inquiry output by a source LAN emulation client of a first ELAN when the destination MAC address to be resolved is allocated to at least one LAN emulation client of a second ELAN and the first as well as the second ELAN are connected to a higher-ranking network, having the following method steps: encapsulation of the address resolution request present in the first ELAN as ELAN frame in a frame format of the CLS wide-area network and transmission via the CLS wide-area network to the second ELAN; de-encapsulation of the encapsulated address resolution request and handover to an LAN emulation server LES of the second ELAN in the ELAN frame format; resolution of the destination MAC address into an appertaining ATM address by this LAN emulation server of the second ELAN and output of an address resolution response; encapsulation of this address resolution response into the frame format of the CLS wide-area network and trans
