Abstract: The subject of the present invention is an apparatus for the intermixing of a fluid stream with a fluid stream, which comprises a pipe through which the fluid stream is routed, at least two distributors for delivering the fluid stream being arranged inside the pipe, this arrangement of the distributors being made possible by bores in the casing of the pipe, and these distributors having a free flow cross section which is constant or decreases continuously, as seen in the main direction of flow of the fluid, and the distributors having one or more rows of holes for delivering the fluid into the fluid.

Abstract: A process for working up mother liquors resulting from the preparation of adipic acid by oxidation of cyclohexanol or cyclohexanone or mixtures thereof with nitric acid entails removal of nitric acid by azeotropic distillation with water, heating the resulting melt at from 130.degree. to 180.degree. C. and then dissolving it in water, treating the aqueous solution with cation exchangers, subsequently again evaporating off the water and heating the resulting dicarboxylic acid melt at from 200.degree. to 240.degree. C. and then obtaining a mixture of dicarboxylic acids by distillation.

Abstract: Known and novel substituted acroleins of the general formula I ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is alkoxy, phenoxy, halogen, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy, haloalkylthiyl or nitro, n is an integer from 1 to 5, in the case of n being greater than 1 the R.sup.1 s being identical or different and in the event of nitro substitution the aromatic ring carrying not more than 3 nitro groups, and where R.sup.2 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted aryl or hetaryl or a nonaromatic heterocyclic radical, are prepared by reacting a phenylacetaldehyde of the general formula II ##STR2## with an aldehyde of the general formula III[R.sup.2 -CHO] IIIin the presence of a base and a solvent. These acroleins are useful to prepare hydroxymethyloxiranes which are intermediates in the synthesis of antimycotic and fungicidal azoylmethyloxiranes.

Abstract: Acrylates of the general formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl, X is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, haloalkyl, cyano or nitro, W is unsubstituted or alkyl-substituted, saturated or unsaturated C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 -alkylene, Y is hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl, aryloxy, halogen, an unsubstituted or substituted C.sub.4 H.sub.4 chain which is fused to the benzene radical, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylthio, thiocyanato, cyano, NO.sub.2, ##STR2## where R' and R" independently of one another are each hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio or cycloalkyl, or are phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by alkyl, halogen or alkoxy, m is 0 or 1, n is from 1 to 4 and Z is oxygen, sulfur, SO or SO.sub.2, and fungicides containing them.
