  • Publication number: 20230111129
Abstract: An antimicrobial composition for use as a preservative for waterborne coating compositions where said antimicrobial composition comprise at least two organic compounds in combination selected from a combination of compound group i) and compound group ii). Compound group i) is selected from the group consisting of dodecanoic acid, metal dodecaonoate, ammonium dodecanoate and a combination thereof, while compound group ii) is selected from the group consisting of propionic acid, metal formate, metal propionate, ammonium propionate and a combination thereof. The waterborne coating composition is based on an emulsion polymer resin based on a radical polymerization polymer selected from the group consisting of; vinyl acetate (PVA) polymer, vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE) copolymer, vinyl acrylic copolymer, acrylic polymer, styrene acrylic copolymer, vinyl acetate/ethylene/vinyl chloride copolymer, vinyl acetate versatate and combinations thereof. The antimicrobial composition constitutes 0.3-3.

  • Patent number: 6398771
Abstract: A flexible transparent container for improved storage of oxygen sensitive parenterally administerable agents comprising an inner, primary container enclosed in a substantially oxygen impermeable outer envelope with an oxygen absorber, capable of consuming essentially all residual oxygen after the outer envelope is sealed, and for sufficient period also the oxygen penetrating said envelope. The inner container is made of a polypropylene containing flexible polymeric material compatible with lipophilic agents capable of forming both permanent and peelable seals, while the envelope is made of a substantially water impermeable flexible multilayered polymeric material comprising a first outer substantially water impermeable polymeric film with oxygen barrier forming capacity, assembled with a second, inner polymeric film with a supplementary oxygen barrier forming capacity. The container essentially maintains its characteristics after being subjected to sterilization by steam or radiation.

  • Patent number: 5881534
Abstract: A novel process for sterilizing an article made from polymeric material by radiation sterilization. The article is enclosed in a gas impermeable package together with an oxygen absorber for a time sufficient to consume substantially all the oxygen in the package and the oxygen dissolved in the polymeric material. The article is prefereably intended for medical use and can contain a radiation sterilizable parenterally administerable preparation.

  • Patent number: 5741566
Abstract: An autoclavable multi-layer film formed of thermoplastic materials capable of being processed into hollow shapes and useful for packaging oxygen sensitive materials. The film includes sequential layers A--B--C--D--C--B'--A', wherein the film may optionally not include layer A or A' and the corresponding layer B or B'. A and A' are layers substantially water and water vapor resistant, wherein at least one of the layers A and A' is made of polyolefins, polyethylene terephthalates, or co-polymers of polyethylene terephthalates. B and B' are layers adhesively bonding layers A and A' with layers C. C is a layer of a moisture absorbing polymer substantially impermeable to oxygen. The polymer is selected from the group consisting of aromatic polyamides and co-polymers of aromatic polyamides. D is a layer of a polyethylene-vinyl alcohol with a molar ethylene concentration between 0% and 80%.
