  • Patent number: 11957392
Abstract: The disclosure relates to medical devices and methods of manufacturing medical devices. An orthopedic screw includes an inner core member having a head having a first outer diameter, a tip having a second outer diameter, and a body extending between the head and the tip and having a third outer diameter that is less than the first outer diameter and the second outer diameter. An outer body member is disposed circumferentially around the body of the inner core member and defines an outer body member external thread. The tip of the inner core member can define an inner core member external thread that forms an interrupted thread with the outer body member external thread.

  • Publication number: 20220371423
Abstract: A motor vehicle shell of a motor vehicle includes a frame structure that is formed by crossmembers and by longitudinal members. The frame structure is closed peripherally and protrudes downwardly in a vertical direction of the motor vehicle from a base element. A receiving chamber for receiving an electrical energy store is delimited by the frame structure. A cover is formed separately from the frame structure and is disposed opposite the base element. The receiving chamber is closed downwardly in the vertical direction of the motor vehicle by the cover. An annular and dimensionally stable intermediary element is formed separately from the frame structure and separately from the cover. The intermediary element is disposed between the frame structure and the cover and the intermediary element is fixed at least in a liquid-tight manner on the frame structure by a firmly bonded connection.

  • Patent number: 7820413
Abstract: A series of methods that utilize the incremental truncation of nucleic acids are described to create a plurality of modified nucleic acids and hybrid polypeptides. A plurality of substantially all possible single base-pair deletions of a given nucleic acid sequence is created. A method of making shuffled incremental truncated nucleic acids, which is independent of nucleic acid sequence homology, is also described. These methods can be used in protein engineering, protein folding, protein evolution, and the chemical synthesis of novel hybrid proteins and polypeptides.
