In a method in accordance with the technique, a signal encoded with a convolution code is received. The encoded signal comprises information and a check value. The encoded signal is decoded using a Viterbi algorithm to derive the information and the check value. The decoding includes computing a Viterbi state metric. A reliability parameter is then determined based on the Viterbi state metric. The information is selectively processed depending on both the check value and the reliability parameter.

    Abstract: A technique of processing an Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) transmission is disclosed. As to a method aspect of the technique, the method comprises the steps of requesting a retransmission of a transport block; receiving the retransmission of the transport block; and detecting modulation symbols. The retransmission is requested in response to an error-detecting code indicating an error in the transport block as received in at least one previous transmission. The modulation symbols are detected based on at least a part of the received retransmission and information from the at least one previous transmission. At least in some embodiments, a detection rate is thus improved.

A valve body is connected with the diaphragm and cooperates with a valve seat to modulate flow from the inlet to an outlet and through the flow chamber. A first pilot valve in a first bypass extends between the outlet and the control chamber, and a second pilot valve in a second bypass extends between the inlet and the control chamber. The valves are controlled to selectively open or close respective bypasses to vary the flow through the flow chamber between a fully open and a fully closed condition in response to a control signal.
