  • Patent number: 10328725
Abstract: A device detects at least one position of at least a part of a printing material while the printing material is transported in a printing machine. The device includes an optical sensor for establishing a distance between a printing machine component and the printing material. The distance established by the optical sensor is temperature-compensated by a computer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 28, 2017
Date of Patent: June 25, 2019
    Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
Inventors: Stefan Knauf, Andreas Henn, Juergen Ritz, Olaf Lorenz, Thomas Schmidt, Stefan Muench, Thomas Goebel, Wolfgang Kabus, Stephanie Weinig-Kress, Stefan Mutschall, Nicklas Raymond Norrick, Steffen Neeb
  • Patent number: 10131137
Abstract: A sheet-fed printing press includes a printing cylinder and a high-precision sensor system for monitoring a sheet run in the area of the printing cylinder. At least one gage, which is mounted on the printing cylinder, can be detected by the sensor system. It is particularly advantageous if the sensor system is configured to be self-calibrating. A method for calibrating a sensor system and a method for aligning a sensor system are also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 1, 2017
Date of Patent: November 20, 2018
    Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
Inventors: Andreas Henn, Thomas Schmidt, Wolfgang Kabus, Stefan Knauf, Juergen Ritz, Olaf Lorenz, Christian Bull, Stefan Muench, Thomas Goebel

  • Patent number: 8418799
Abstract: A cooling system is provided for a thermoelectric power generator and that is arranged in an exhaust gas line of an internal combustion engine for generating electric power while utilizing thermal energy of the exhaust gas. The thermoelectric power generator has its own coolant circuit, which also serves to raise the temperature of the components of the internal combustion engine, the chassis, and/or the transmission or serves to heat the passenger compartment. This offers the added utility gained from a faster temperature rise of transmission lubricants and lubricants of the internal combustion engine, as well as from heating the passenger compartment and the rear axle differential and, thus, offers a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2).
