Patents by Inventor Stefan Nunninger

Stefan Nunninger has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20100034489
Abstract: Prior art discloses gas bearings, which use a stream of gas to support a piston. This is achieved by micro-nozzles in the cylinder wall of a cylindrical element. Micro-nozzles of this type are susceptible to dirt retention. According to the invention, channels that run parallel with the cylinder axis are provided on the inner face of the base element, some of the channels supplying gas via the compression chamber and the other channels being connected to the gas reservoir.

  • Patent number: 7631438
Abstract: A reversing linear drive which comprises a field coil and a magnetic armature that is excited by the magnetic field of the field coil to perform a linear, axially oscillating movement. In order to detect the armature position, the drive is provided with a stripe pattern element with an alternating arrangement of transparent and opaque stripes or of light-reflecting stripes and non-light-reflecting stripes which extends at least across the entire axial armature stroke, and with a light barrier with elements that emit and receive light in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction.

  • Publication number: 20090301293
Abstract: Known compressors are equipped with gas bearings, in which the bearing nozzles are continuously supplied with a stream of gas. According to the invention, the gas bearing is a self-sufficient bearing, in which the supply pressure is independent of the delivery pressure. To achieve this, the compressor is equipped with a gas reservoir with a bearing supply pressure.

  • Publication number: 20090294624
Abstract: A guide element, which has an independent rigidity in each of three spatial directions and in which great length modifications in relation to the geometric dimensions are achieved by suitable 3-D structures, enabling the durability of the element to be maintained over its entire service life. This permits the production of small spring elements.
