  • Patent number: 12215020
Abstract: A microelectromechanical system (MEMS) device includes a substrate, a suspended element and a damping structure connected to the suspended element and one or more fluid confinement structures. The suspended element is connected to a fixed part of the substrate by one or more flexures configured to permit movement of the suspended element relative to a fixed part of the substrate. The damping structure extends into a gap between the suspended element and the fixed part of the substrate. The damping structure includes one or more winglets that protrude over a recessed portion of the fixed part of the substrate. The fluid confinement structures are formed by the recessed portion of the fixed substrate and are configured to permit movement of the damping structure over the recessed portion of the substrate and confine a viscoelastic fluid to the limited portion of the gap underneath the winglets.

Abstract: A brake element for a motor vehicle, having a base body that is planar at least in areas, to the planar sides of which at least two build-up layers are applied in each case, at least in areas. The build-up layers form a surface which, in the mounted state of the brake element on the motor vehicle, is used as a friction surface for a brake pad. A first build-up layer is present that adjoins the base body, and a second build-up layer is applied to the first build-up layer. The second build-up layer is made of a composite of an iron alloy matrix with intercalated tungsten carbide particles or with intercalated titanium carbide particles. At least the first build-up layer is an iron alloy that is alloyed at least with molybdenum in a range of 3 to 20 weight percent.

  • Patent number: 12195326
Abstract: A microelectromechanical system (MEMS) device comprising a wafer including a MEMS device in a substrate of the wafer is mounted to a fluid dispenser stage. The MEMS device has a damping structure coupled to a suspended element and one or more fluid confinement structures. The suspended element is connected to a fixed part of the substrate by one or more flexures configured to permit movement of the suspended element relative to the fixed part of the substrate. The damping structure extends into a gap between the suspended element and fixed part of the substrate. The fluid confinement structures permit movement of the damping structure within a limited portion of the gap and confine a viscoelastic fluid to the limited portion of the gap. A viscoelastic fluid is deposited onto the wafer in an area of the wafer configured to communicate the viscoelastic fluid into the limited portion of the gap.

  • Publication number: 20240168953
Abstract: A top K query directed at a table is received. The table is organized into multiple storage units. The top K query comprises a first clause to sort a result set in order and a second clause that specifies a limit on a number of results provided in response to the query. A table scan operator identifies a first set of rows from the table based on a scan set determined for the table and provides the first set of rows to a top K operator. The top K operator determines a current boundary based on the first set of rows and provides the current boundary to the table scan operator. The table scan operator prunes the scan set based on the current boundary and identifies a second set of rows from the table based on the pruning.

  • Patent number: 11989184
Abstract: A query directed at a source table organized into a set of batch units is received. The query comprises a regular expression search pattern. The regular expression search pattern is converted to a pruning index predicate comprising a set of substring literals extracted from the regular expression search pattern. A set of N-grams is generated based on the set of substring literals extracted from the regular expression search pattern. A pruning index associated with the source table is accessed. The pruning index indexes distinct N-grams in each column of the source table. A subset of batch units to scan for data matching the query are identified based on the pruning index and the set of N-grams. The query is processed by scanning the subset of batch units.

  • Patent number: 11893025
Abstract: A source table organized into a set of batch units is accessed. The source table comprises a column of data corresponding to a semi-structured data type. One or more indexing transformations for an object in the column are generated. The generating of the one or more indexing transformation includes converting the object to one or more stored data types. A pruning index is generated for the source table based in part on the one or more indexing transformations. The pruning index comprises a set of filters that index distinct values in each column of the source table, and each filter corresponds to a batch unit in the set of batch units. The pruning index is stored in a database with an association with the source table.

  • Patent number: 11872654
Abstract: A device for structuring a surface of a through opening in a component, in particular a cylinder opening of a cylinder crankcase for an internal combustion engine. The device comprises a lance, which can be moved into the through opening by a displacement device. The lance has means for emitting a laser beam from a laser light source in the direction of the surface of the through opening. A preferably plate-shaped cover is provided, which is designed for placement on an end face of the component. The cover forms a passage opening which is dimensioned such that the lance can be moved through it. A compressed gas feed is integrated into the cover and comprises a connector for connecting to a compressed gas source and forms one or more outlet openings at the edge of the passage opening.

  • Patent number: 11865279
Abstract: The current document is directed to improved PTA methodologies that significantly decrease the risks of persistent blood-vessel-wall distention and subsequent restenosis and the risks of PTA-induced dissection, hematoma, and pseudoaneurysm when used to treat blood vessels. Similar improved percutaneous-transluminal-interventional methods are used to treat non-vascular vessels. The improved methods include initial selection of balloon length and inflation pressure for initial treatment of primary lesions to minimize the risks of over-inflation and generation of undesirable localized forces during balloon inflation. The improved methods further include higher-pressure treatment of remaining secondary lesions that also minimizes the risks of over-inflation and generation of undesirable localized forces. The improved methods can be practiced using differently sized balloons and conventional instrumentation, but may be facilitated by use of balloon-length-adjustable catheters.
