A cooking food support can be inserted into a cooking food support slide-in level in the upper cooking chamber region at a distance from an upper face of the cooking chamber divider, such that the distance between the upper face of the inserted cooking chamber divider and an upper face of the inserted cooking food support is between 10 mm and 30 mm, and/or the upper cooking chamber region has a fixedly arranged heating element, with a distance between the upper face of the inserted cooking food support and the heating element in the upper cooking chamber region and/or an upper rim of a boundary flange which defines a loading opening of the cooking chamber is between 160 mm and 210 mm.

Abstract: A plate-shaped cooking compartment insert includes a base plate and a heating element arranged on an underside of the base plate. The heating element is arranged on a side remote from the underside of the base plate such that, at least in one region, the heating element is exposed downward. A delimitation web is formed on the underside and has at least one region which borders the heating element peripherally. The delimitation web overlaps with the heating element in height direction of the cooking compartment insert such that a lateral protection against touching the heating element is formed, when viewed in horizontal direction. The delimitation web has at least one region which is offset inward relative to a peripheral edge of the base plate, so that a region between the peripheral edge and an outer side of the delimitation web forms a handle zone for carrying the cooking compartment insert.

Light reflected in the cooking compartment is measured and measurement results of the light measurement are spectroscopically evaluated. Depending on a result of the spectroscopic evaluation, operation of the cooking appliance is adjusted.

Abstract: In a method for treating food to be cooked in a household cooking appliance, a sensor measures a local distribution of a surface condition of the food to be cooked. A measure of deviation is calculated from the measured local distribution and multiple local power distributions that are known in advance in the region of the food to be cooked in correspondence with different sets of setting values of a unit for treating the food to be cooked. A unit for treating the food to be cooked is operated by using the set of setting values of the one of the power distributions for which the measure of deviation fulfills a predetermined criterion.
