  • Publication number: 20020157427
Abstract: The invention relates to a circular knitting machine with a frame (1) having a plurality of feet (2, 3, 4). A needle carrier (7), a cam box ring and a take-down and/or winding-up device (14) are mounted in the frame (1). At least one of the feet (3, 4) is adjustable for altering the machine width (FIG. 1).

  • Publication number: 20020106692
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for screening target-ligand interactions while using a chemical library of ligands, to the chemical library of ligands as such, to a method for producing the chemical library, as well as to the use of the chemical library for developing active agents and for developing molecular sensors. The screening method comprises the following steps: (a) measuring at least one fluorescence property of a locally addressable chemical library of ligands that is immobilized on a solid phase, whereby a molecular fluorescence sensor is bound to each ligand; (b) adding the target, and (c) measuring the same fluorescence property/properties of the chemical library as described in step (a).

  • Patent number: 6393870
Abstract: A circular knitting machine with support disk (2) and a needle cylinder (4) fixed onto it with screws is described. According to the invention, an intermediate ring (17), elastically deformable in the radial direction, is arranged between support disk (2) and needle cylinder (4), through which the stresses that develop from different heat expansions are avoided between these two components.

  • Publication number: 20020031449
Abstract: The invention relates to multiple-container systems and to the use of same for optical assays. The invention relates in particular to a multiple-container system comprising a container wall matrix (1) with continuous cavities and one or more optically transparent base plates (2) joined to the container wall matrix.aid system is characterized in that the base plates are coated with a film (3) having functional groups suitable for the covalent immobilization of molecules. The film on the base plate is preferably a Langmuir-Blodgett film, and preferably a Langmuir-Blodgett film on cellulose basis. The invention further relates to multiple-container systems comprising a container wall matrix with continuos cavities and one or more optically transparent base plates joined to the wall matrix. Said systems are characterized in that the base plates are coated with a film derivatized with receptor molecules or molecules presenting low non-specific protein adsorption.

  • Patent number: 6131417
Abstract: A circular knitting machine has a knitting frame, a supporting ring mounted on the machine frame, a needle cylinder supported on the supporting ring. The needle cylinder has a needle cylinder axis and an upper and a lower edge. A carrier shaft is mounted in the machine frame coaxial to the needle axis, a component is mounted on a lower end of the carrier shaft, and a device is provided for moving the needle cylinder relative to the component in the direction of the needle carrier axis so that the needle cylinder can be disassembled or assembled by motions substantially perpendicular to the needle cylinder axis and so that the needle cylinder is movable into an operating position and an assembly position allowing assembly and/or disassembly.
