Patent number: 7059026Abstract: A process for forming a tampon having a relatively high density, compressed core and a plurality of lower density longitudinal ribs is disclosed. The longitudinal ribs have a softer fiber structure and a coarser capillary structure and extend radially from the core. The process includes forming a fibrous tampon blank, radially pressing a circumferential surface of the blank over spaced apart longitudinally extending portions to form spaced apart ribs, exposing the longitudinal ribs to a radially applied second pressure to form a tampon having a relatively high density, compressed core and a plurality of lower density longitudinal ribs, extending therefrom. The longitudinal ribs are separated one from another by outwardly open longitudinal grooves, at least where they extend from the core, and they form a soft, essentially smoothly cylindrical outer surface of the tampon.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2005Date of Patent: June 13, 2006Inventors: Axel Friese, Stefan Simon

Patent number: 6318342Abstract: A fuel injector-pressure sensor combination for fuel injection systems for direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine and for measurement of the pressure in the combustion chamber includes a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element. The piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element is positively connected with a valve closer which interacts with a valve seat face to form a sealing seat. In addition, an electronic control and analysis circuit is provided which activates the piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element during a fuel injection phase in such a way that the valve closer activated by the piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element lifts off from the valve seat face and opens the seat. During a pressure measurement phase, the control and analysis circuit detects a pressure in the combustion chamber transmitted from the valve closer to the piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element and converted by the latter into an electric signal.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2000Date of Patent: November 20, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Stefan Simon, Holger Krebs

Patent number: 4428747Abstract: A blister package, particularly for sanitary tampons (3) for women hygiene, is comprised of a pressed foil (1) forming a deep hollow and of a cover foil, and comprises a deposit (6) for an additive, preferably a lubricant. The deposit (6) is arranged in a main trough (19) intended to receive the sanitary tampon (3). The deposit (6) may be shaped as a cup (5) of the pressed foil (1) and opened in the hollow of the pressed foil (1) or be covered or separated from the main trough (19). The deposit (6) may be relieved through the opening of the blister package and brought in contact with the end (3a) and the pad (3), but the deposit may also be pressed by means of the finger applied pressure in the direction of the end (3a) of the pad (3) to coat it before the opening of the blister package and the use of the pad (3). The additive will therefore be applied immediately before using the sanitary tampon, so that all of the amount of additive available achieve its purpose.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1981Date of Patent: January 31, 1984Inventors: Axel Friese, Stefan Simon

Patent number: 4113083Abstract: An apparatus is provided for transferring a cylindrical work piece from a first work station to a second work station is provided. The apparatus comprises a transfer element extending substantially in one main plane, and moveable in said plane. The transfer element is provided with a plurality of openings therethrough in which bushes for receiving and transferring work pieces are mounted to be moveable with the transfer element. A device moves each bush into approximate axial alignment with the first work station for receiving a work piece and then in approximate axial alignment with the second work station for discharging a work piece. The bushes are floatingly mounted within the openings to compensate for errors in axial alignment.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1976Date of Patent: September 12, 1978Assignee: Dr. Carl Hahn G.m.b.H.Inventors: Axel Friese, Stefan Simon
