  • Publication number: 20040106865
Abstract: A magnetic resonance apparatus for examinations having a local gradient coil unit (insert gradient coils) has a driven support mechanism (patient bed) with which the examination subject can be introduced into the examination space of the magnetic resonance apparatus, and a coupling device with which a gradient coil unit can be coupled to the patient bed and can be moved into the examination space by the driven patient bed. The gradient coil unit is positioned in the examination space by the patient bed and does not required its own drive.

  • Patent number: 6741152
Abstract: A directly cooled magnetic coil, particularly a gradient coil for a magnetic resonance apparatus, has the conductors forming the windings which are provided with an inner cooling channel for conducting a cooling fluid therethrough, and the conductors are fashioned as profiled segment conductors whose individual profiled segments surround a cooling tube. The cooling tube is composed of material that is not electrically conductive, or is only slightly electrically conductive, particularly a flexible plastic.

  • Publication number: 20040085067
Abstract: In a gradient coil system for a magnetic resonance apparatus and a method for manufacturing such a gradient coil system, a first winding is arranged on a first surface and a conductor arrangement is arranged on a second surface spaced from the first surface, a conductor end of the first winding, located in an inner region of the first surface, is bent toward the second surface, and the conductor end is electrically conductively connected to the conductor arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20040080318
Abstract: A device for inserting local gradient coils (insert gradient coils) into a magnetic resonance apparatus has movable carrier unit and a boom that is extensible in the horizontal direction, the boom being connected to the movable carrier unit and accepting the gradient coil unit and inserting it into the examination space of the magnetic resonance apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20040046555
Abstract: To position and fix the gradient coil assembly in a basic field magnet assembly of a nuclear magnetic resonance tomograph, an annular clamp element is clamped on a surface of the gradient coil assembly between the gradient coil assembly and the basic field magnet assembly. The clamp element has a conical internal surface which is form-fittingly in contact with a similar surface of the gradient coil assembly, so as to provide a self-centering force on the gradient coil assembly and to maintain the gradient coil assembly with an annular gap between the external surface of the gradient coil surface and the interior surface of the basic field magnet assembly.

  • Publication number: 20030171048
Abstract: A layer structure has at least two material layers with an intermediate or casting layer interposed between adjacent material layers. The intermediate layer includes a casting material and a plurality of elongated elements having different orientations which are extending across each other to form a weave to determine the interspacing between the two material layers before any casting material of the intermediate layer is inserted. The two material layers which are to be joined together may be gradient coils of a tomograph.

  • Patent number: 6186261
Abstract: A restraint system is disclosed which with high reliability trips one or more restraint devices, if in a collision there is the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. This restraint system is equipped with at least one seat position senor (SPS1, SPS2, . . . , SPSm), with which a change in the seat position of at least one vehicle occupant can be ascertained, and a control unit (SE) forms a first criterion for tripping one or more restraint devices (R1, R2, . . . , Rk) if the rate of change of the seat position exceeds a predeterminable threshold. The control unit (SE) forms a second criterion for tripping one or more restraint devices (R1, R2, . . . , Rk) if one or more precrash sensors (PCS1, PCS2, . . . , PCSn) signal an incipient collision. The control unit (SE) does not cause the tripping of one or more restraint devices (R1, R2, . . . , Rk) unless both tripping criteria are satisfied and also a braking datum (BI), advantageously generated by a brake light switch, is present.
