  • Publication number: 20050000517
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve arrangement in the ventilatory treatment of the lungs of a living creature (2) under a state of anaesthesia, comprising valve equipment (4) devised to carry an insufflation gas and/or an insufflation gas mixture from a lung ventilation unit (3) into the lungs and airways (2a) of the living creature (2) and allow expiration of gas and/or gas mixture held in the airways. The said valve equipment (4) and a combination of sensor units (61, 61A, 62) are arranged in close proximity to one another. They are inter-connected by an end section for a bundle of tubing (30) from the lung ventilation unit (3), and the said sensor units (61, 61a, 62) are located closer to the said living creature (2) than the said valve equipment (4).

  • Publication number: 20040261793
Abstract: The invention relates to a lung ventilator that includes a control unit (3a), at least one gas delivery hose (4), and a patient-allocated or -related device, wherein one end part of the hose faces towards the control unit and the other end part of the hose faces towards said device. The control unit (3a) includes means for passing an inhalation gas flow or an insufflation gas flow to the patient, and an expiration valve (6) is adapted to allow expiration gas to flow to the free surroundings, said expiration valve being controllable to either one of two functional states. A reserve volume (7′) in a container (7) or bag is adapted to generate manually a gas flow, intended to an insufflation phase, wherein this gas flow can be actuated by applying pressure to the container temporarily and over or during a short tie period. The thus pressurised reserve volume in the container or bag is delivered to the hose (4c), which is connected directly to the patient-allocated or related device (5, 6).

  • Patent number: 6360715
Abstract: A combustion system for engines having at least one cylinder (10). The system may e.g. consist of an exhaust duct, an intake duct (20a), a cylinder chamber (30), a fuel injector for injecting fuel into the cylinder chamber (30), a piston (40) performing a reciprocating motion in the cylinder chamber (30), and a valve (70) for intake and one for exhaust. The intake duct (20a) is connected to the cylinder chamber (30) and said intake valve (70) is operative to open and close, respectively, the connection between the intake duct (20a) and the cylinder chamber (30). The crown (60) of the piston (40) is provided with a cavity (50), shaped so as to enhance the generation of tumbling inside the cylinder chamber (30) during the intake stroke and to contribute to the breakdown during the compression stroke inside the cylinder chamber (30).
