  • Publication number: 20240077458
Abstract: A method for determining whether a defect is present in a ceramic component includes determining a temperature difference between a first temperature and a second temperature based on an intended use of the ceramic component, bringing the ceramic component to a first temperature, after bringing the ceramic component to the first temperature, bringing the ceramic component to a second temperature, performing a resonance ultrasound spectroscopy on the ceramic component after bringing the ceramic component to the second temperature to produce an ultrasound spectrum of the ceramic component, comparing the ultrasound spectrum with a reference spectrum to determine a degree of similarity between the ultrasound spectrum and the reference spectrum, and determining from the degree of similarity whether the defect is present in the ceramic component.

  • Patent number: 10349255
Abstract: A communication method and device are described. The communication device can be a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) communication device configured to communicate using a first SIM and a second SIM. In the communication method, a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) communication can be established using the first SIM. Further, whether the MBMS communication is prioritized over a second communication being initiated using the second SIM can be determined. The MBMS communication and the second communication can be managed based on the determination. The communication device can include a service priority determination processor that can determine whether the MBMS communication is prioritized over the second communication.

  • Patent number: 9961580
Abstract: A mobile terminal device includes a processing circuit and a receiver circuit. The processing circuit is configured to determine if a multimedia data stream associated with a mobile communication network is received, identify a set of reception timing occasions of the multimedia data stream, and calculate an alternate radio measurement schedule based on the set of reception timing occasions. • Patent number: 9461685
Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method of controlling a subscriber identity module (SIM) operation state in a multiple SIMs radio. For example, while operating a first packet switch (PS) service on a first SIM, a multi-SIM radio is configured to receive a PS paging signal indicating on arrival of a second PS service configured to operate on a second SIM. The radio may determine a priority of the first PS service, and a priority of the second PS service. The radio is configured to activate the second SIM, for example, if the priority of the second PS service is higher than the priority of the first PS service operating on the first SIM.

  • Patent number: 8780938
Abstract: A technique for performing layer 2 processing is described. In a method implementation of this technique, at least one first RLC SDU is created from one or more first RLC PDUs. It is assumed here that the first RLC SDU belongs to an incomplete RLC SDU set that is to comprise at least one second RLC SDU, and that the second RLC SDU is to be created from at least one second RLC PDU not yet available. In a next step, a first PDCP function is applied to the first RLC SDU to create a data packet. The RLC function is only performed after the second RLC PDU has become available (or after an RLC time-out). Then, after the RLC function has been performed, the data packet is released to a second PDCP function.

  • Patent number: 8483061
Abstract: A distributed memory architecture for a layer 2 processing circuit chip (50) is described. In one implementation, the layer 2 processing circuit chip (50) comprises an external memory interface configured to provide access to data packets stored in an external memory (52), a layer 2 processor (54) coupled to the external memory interface (56) and configured to process data packets retrieved from the external memory (56) to generate RLC SDUs, and an on-chip memory (58) coupled to the layer 2 processor (54) and configured to store the RLC PDUs generated by the layer 2 processor (54) prior to their transmission. Upon a request to retransmit an RLC PDU, the layer 2 processor (54) is configured to selectively read the RLC PDU to be retransmitted from the on-chip memory (58) or a data packet comprising the RLC PDU to be retransmitted from the external memory (52).

  • Patent number: 8297249
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling the start-up phase of a motor vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine (12). The internal combustion engine (12) is started by an electrical machine (16) that can be operated as a motor, and there is a preferably automatically actuatable clutch (50) in the drive train (11) between the internal combustion engine (12) and the electrical machine (16). A faster start-up response can be achieved if the internal combustion engine (12) is driven by the electrical machine (16) when the clutch (50) is engaged during start-up, and if the clutch capacitance (MK) is reduced according to a defined parameter, preferably the engine speed, the time or the torque (ME) of the electrical machine (16) or similar.
