Abstract: Disclosed are a dry mixture and a personal care composition, each comprising a fibrous material of natural origin and obtained from plants. The fibrous material comprises micro-scaled and/or nano-scaled fibril agglomerates. Such compositions show pleasant skin feel and comfort during and after application, as well as fast drying and fast absorption into skin. The compositions obtained are also particularly well suited for the topical delivery of cosmetic and pharmaceutical active substances into skin. Additionally, methods to obtain said dry mixture and said personal care composition are disclosed.

Abstract: A microfibrillated cellulose-loaded foam is indicated, comprising microfibrillated cellulose, at least one thickening agent and/or at least one adhesive biopolymer. Furthermore, a method for producing such a microfibrillated cellulose-loaded foam and a use of such a foam are provided.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the preparation of a nano- and/or microscale cellulose-based foam. The method comprises the steps of (i) providing a suspension (1) comprising nano- and/or microscale cellulose in an aqueous medium, (ii) simultaneously cooling and agitating the suspension (1) in a mechanical step (2a; 2b) to obtain an at least partially frozen suspension. (iii) freezing the at least partially frozen suspension (5) to obtain a substantially frozen suspension, (iv) treating the suspension under solvent-exchange (7; 8) and (v) removing the solvent (10; 13) to obtain a substantially dry foam (40A) comprising nano- and/or microscale cellulose.
