Abstract: A microcapsule dispersion containing: (1) biodegradable microcapsules comprising a core material and a shell, wherein the shell consists of at least one barrier layer and one stability layer, wherein the barrier layer surrounds the core material, wherein the stability layer comprises at least one biopolymer and is arranged on the outer surface of the barrier layer, and wherein optionally an emulsion stabilizer is arranged at the transition from the barrier layer to the stability layer; and (2) at least one emulsifier, wherein the emulsifier is selected from the group of ethoxylated, hydrogenated castor oils, particularly those with medium EO values in the range of 20 to 60, preferably 30 to 50.

Abstract: Compositions selected from detergents and cleaning agents and cosmetic agents are described. The compositions include biodegradable microcapsules including a core material and a shell. The shell includes at least one barrier layer and one stability layer. The barrier layer surrounds the core material. The stability layer includes at least one biopolymer, and is arranged on the outer surface of the barrier layer. An emulsion stabilizer is arranged at the transition between the barrier layer and the stability layer. Use of these agents is also described.

Abstract: Washing and cleaning agents may include microcapsules comprising a core material where the core material may include at least one fragrance and a shell. The shell may consist of at least one first layer and one second layer with different chemical compositions. The shell may have a biodegradability, measured in accordance with OECD 301 F, of at least 40%. Such agents may be used for conditioning textiles or for cleaning textiles and/or hard surfaces.
