  • Patent number: 7815647
Abstract: An intramedullary nail and targeting and/or nailing instrument are provided, whereby a connection end of the targeting and/or nailing instrument has an axially parallel protrusion and a connection end of the nail has an axially parallel recess in order to couple the targeting and/or nailing instrument. The coupling system couples the targeting/nailing instrument and nail in their rotational position when they contact axially and whereby a connector is also provided in order to connect the targeting and/or nailing instrument and the nail in an axially fixed but also releasable manner. The connection end of the targeting and/or nailing instrument has an end section that engages approximately in one end of the bore-hole section of the nail and the end section and bore-hole section have a deformable element for a releasable snap connection of the parts with the simultaneous contact of the axially parallel protrusion and the axially parallel recess.

  • Publication number: 20080058829
Abstract: A targeting device for targeting a cross bore in a bone nail has an arm member coupled to an end portion of the bone nail and an aiming portion forming part of the arm member extending parallel to a longitudinal axis of the bone nail. An adjustable aiming device is mounted on the aiming portion, the adjustable device having a guide bore alignable with the cross bore in the nail. The adjustable device is moveable with respect to the aiming portion in a direction perpendicular to a plane containing both the nail longitudinal axis and central axis of the cross bore. A target indicator is mounted on the adjustable aiming device. The target indicator has a radiolucent body including a planar portion having spaced parallel radiopaque elements therein.

  • Patent number: 6245085
Abstract: Endoscopic surgery nippers have a proximal end body to which is detachably affixed the proximal end zone of a tube forming the nippers' shank, the end zone being detachably fixed in the axial position while rotatable about the axis of the end body. A grip is fixed in place on the end body and another grip is pivotally supported on the first grip and has a swivel socket along the tube axis on the proximal side of the end body. A nipper head supports nipper arms and is detachably connected in rotatably and in axially geometrically interlocking manner with the distal tube end. A rod driving the nipper arms and affixed in axially displaceable and non-rotatable manner to the nipper head extends through the tube and is detachably supported at its distal end in the swivel socket.
