  • Publication number: 20140358619
Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment, a computer-implemented method for attempting to optimize a supply chain network (SCN) includes forecasting demand in the SCN based on a set of demand data. One or more time-dependent reorder points (ROPs) deemed to optimize the SCN are generated by a computer processor, based on the demand forecast, where each time-dependent ROP represents an ROP that changes over time. A simulation of operations of the SCN is performed, using the time-dependent ROPs.

  • Patent number: 8821864
Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds and methods useful for the detection and treatment of disorders associated with frameshift mutations in coding microsatellite regions. The compounds and methods are applicable in cancers, especially of DNA mismatch repair deficient (MMR) sporadic tumors and HNPCC associated tumors. The compounds are useful for detection of disorders and in therapy such as immuno-therapy. The diagnostic methods relate to diagnosis and prognostic assessment of disorders associated with frameshift polypeptides originating from frameshift mutations in coding microsatellite regions of genes based on the detection of immunological entities directed against said frameshift polypeptides in body fluids.

  • Publication number: 20140184106
Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device (1), for example swing tensioners (1), bracing elements, machine vises or block cylinders, with a movable clamping element (2) for clamping a workpiece with a defined clamping force, and with an electric motor (10) for mechanically driving the clamping element (2), also with a control unit that controls the electric motor (10). The invention provides that the control unit detects an electrical operating parameter of the electric motor (10) as a measure of the clamping force. The contact of the clamping element with the workpiece is detected in this manner. Subsequently, the electric motor (10) is then driven further by a defined number of revolutions, the number of revolutions after contact with the workpiece defining the clamping force. The invention further comprises a corresponding control method.

  • Publication number: 20140149320
Abstract: A system and method is provided for consistent price optimization in multi-modal transportation networks. A corridor is constructed for each origin-destination pair of a transportation network based on one or more parameters. Monotonicity constraints and triangle constraints are generated for each origin-destination pair. An objective function is constructed and convexified using point-price elasticity for consistent price optimization. The one or more parameters and coefficients for a mathematical optimization program are then computed and the mathematical optimization problem is solved for a consistent optimal pricing scheme.

  • Publication number: 20130159045
Abstract: Robust inventory management for a supply chain network with multiple nodes may include generating a time-phased inventory deployment plan based on extreme samples and dynamic supply chain structure. The extreme samples of demand and supply chain scenarios, and dynamic supply chain structure including one or more resource constraints associated with one or more nodes in the supply chain network may be received from a user.

  • Patent number: 5909174
Abstract: A control device is provided with a controllable element and a control unit that delivers an output signal which, when a control command signal applied to the input side is at an activating level, continuously or periodically assumes an activating level and continuously assumes a deactivating level when the control command signal is at a deactivating level or there is a functional failure of the control unit. The control device incorporates a redundancy logic unit that logically links the control command signal with the output signal of the control unit to form the control signal for the controllable element in such fashion that when the output signal of the control unit is continuously at its deactivating level, the control signal, corresponding to the control command signal, is at its activating or deactivating level, while otherwise the control signal is at its activating or deactivating signal level depending on the level of the output signal of the control unit.
