  • Patent number: 11745246
Abstract: Method for producing a component system having a first component with a first component portion and a second component with a second component portion, including the following steps: connecting, in particular welding or soldering, the first component portion, which consists of an aluminum alloy, to the second component portion, which in particular consists of a naturally aged aluminum alloy, a copper alloy or an iron alloy, in particular a steel alloy, so as to form a connection seam; artificially aging the connection seam such that the yield strength of the connection seam is above the yield strength of the first component portion and/or of the second component portion; and deforming, in particular deep-drawing and/or stretch-drawing, the component system.
    Type: Grant

    Assignee: UNIVERSITAET STUTTGART
Inventors: Martin Werz, Stefan Weihe, Lisa Ehemann
  • Patent number: 11407060
Abstract: A counter support for friction stir welding, which makes it possible to also produce very long weld seams by friction stir welding despite a very compact design, is shown. Curved components and nn-straight weld seams may also be produced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 14, 2019
Date of Patent: August 9, 2022
    Assignee: UNIVERSITAET STUTTGART
Inventors: Martin Werz, Stefan Weihe, Florian Panzer
  • Publication number: 20200361035
Abstract: A method for producing a component by means of an additive manufacturing method using a laser is proposed, the method comprising the following steps: (a) providing a metal powder, (b) applying a powder layer (18) of the metal powder to a build platform (14) of a process chamber (12), (c) introducing a first process gas into the process chamber (12), (d) melting a first selected region (36) of the applied powder layer (18) by means of a laser in a first atmosphere which includes the first process gas, (e) introducing a second process gas into the process chamber (12), wherein the second process gas differs from the first process gas at least in terms of its composition and/or its pressure, and (f) melting a second selected region (38) of the applied powder layer (18) by means of the laser in a second atmosphere which includes the second process gas, wherein the second selected region (38) differs from the first selected region (36).

  • Patent number: 10835989
Abstract: In a method of friction stir welding two pieces of material of greatly differing melting temperatures, provision is made that the first piece of material is overlapped by the second piece of material. The rotating pin of the friction stir welding tool provides for a butt joint welding and an overlap welding at the same time in that the pin is moved along the face side and contacts it either not at all or at most to a minimum extent. The same also applies to the planar side of the first piece of material, which is overlapped by the less stable piece of material.
