    Abstract: For the transmission of large data quantities to a control unit of the vehicle, a method is provided for transmitting data from an external transmitter to a control unit of the vehicle. The control unit is connected to the external transmitter via an Ethernet network of the vehicle and via a diagnostic bus of the vehicle. The method includes configuring the control unit for the exchange of data via the Ethernet network, and transmitting the data from the external transmitter to the control unit via the Ethernet network.
