  • Publication number: 20100219547
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for producing Lyocell fibres which are extruded from a cellulose solution of water, cellulose and tertiary amine oxide in a spinning head (25). The cellulose solution is obtained in a number of process steps directly from the cellulose (3, 4) or with the formation of a cellulose suspension. Since the degree of polymerisation decreases in the course of processing the cellulose through to its extrusion in the cellulose solution, with the processing of celluloses with a low degree of polymerisation there is the risk that the endless moulded bodies (2) extruded in the spinning head (25) exhibit defective quality.

  • Publication number: 20080042309
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device (1) for the production of a cellulose solution, from which endless moulded bodies (2) can be extruded. First, a cellulose suspension is produced from cellulose (3, 4) and water (6) in a pulper (5). The cellulose suspension is then expressed by a press device (10). After expressing, a tertiary amine oxide, in particular N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide, is fed as a solvent to the cellulose suspension, thus producing a cellulose solution. The efficiency of the method and the device and their environmental compatibility can be improved in that the press water (11) expressed by the press device (10) is at least in part fed back to the pulper (5). In a further development the proportion of the press water (15) in the water (6) is varied depending on the metal content of the cellulose (3, 4) and/or of the cellulose solution.

  • Patent number: 7303710
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method as well as a system for extruding continuously molded bodies for producing filaments or staple fibers from an extrusion solution, such as a cellulose solution containing water, cellulose and tertiary amine oxide such as N-methylmorpholine N-oxide. In comparison with the methods known from the prior art, profitability can be increased in the production of continuously molded bodies (3) if the extrusion rate v is set to a value v=B·T0.33·10,000·(1/r2). In a system, profitability can be enhanced if the number r of rows is r=[(B/v)·10,000·T0.33]1/2. T is here the fiber titer in T dtex, v the extrusion rate in m/min, r the number of the rows of extrusion duct orifices (12), and B an operational parameter which is not more than 4 and at least 0.5.

  • Patent number: 7204265
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bursting insert for installation in a pipeline system for transporting a fluid showing a spontaneous exothermic reaction. The bursting insert comprises a wall which surrounds—at least in part on the outside—a passage volume having the fluid flowing therethrough in a passage direction. A pressure discharge line which is sealed relative to the passage volume with a bursting body extends out of the passage volume. When a predetermined bursting pressure is exceeded, the bursting body can be transferred into a state in which the passage volume and the pressure discharge line are interconnected in fluid-conducting fashion. For an easy mounting of the bursting body, the bursting insert can be designed as a pipeline module which can be installed and dismounted repeatedly in the pipeline system for replacing the bursting body.

  • Publication number: 20060144062
Abstract: The subject matter of the invention relates to a method and device for controlling the room air conditions in a room, in which a spinning process for the production of endless molded articles from a spinning mass containing water, cellulose and tertiary amine oxide takes place. In such a spinning process the spinning mass is extruded to form endless molded articles and is passed through an air gap, before it is immersed in a precipitating bath. Air-quenching of the endless molded articles by means of a gaseous substance stream takes place in the air gap, whereby the gaseous substance stream escapes into a spinning area surrounding the spinning process and deteriorates the room air conditions for the operating staff. Moreover, the air is heated and enriched with constituents from the spinning process, which increasingly renders the maintenance of favorable spinning conditions in the spinning area more difficult.

  • Publication number: 20060083918
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for producing Lyocell fibres from a spinning solution containing water, cellulose and tertiary amine oxide. The spinning solution is extruded to form spun threads (10). The spun threads (10) are stretched and passed through a precipitation bath (16) in order to precipitate the cellulose. It has been surprisingly revealed that the tenacity of the Lyocell fibres produced in this way can be increased when the stretched fibres are subjected to post-stretching in a post-stretching means. The post-stretched Lyocell fibres have a wet modulus of at least 260 cN/tex.

  • Publication number: 20060055078
Abstract: The invention relates to a wetting device (9) for installation in a spinning system (1) for the manufacture of spinning threads (6) from a spinning solution containing water, cellulose and tertiary amine oxide, a retrofitting kit with such a wetting device and a spinning system fitted with such a wetting device. The wetting device is provided with a supply line (13) for a treatment medium (8). The wetting devices known from the state of the art are designed as containers with a bath for the treatment medium or as overflow containers. These designs have the disadvantage that the efficiency of the spinning process due to the dipping process of the spinning threads in the treatment medium is limited and a large quantity of treatment medium must be circulated.

  • Patent number: 7004188
Abstract: The invention relates to a fluid conduit piece (8) for passing therethrough a spontaneously exothermic working fluid such as a synthetic polymer, a cellulose derivative and a solution on the basis of cellulose, water and amino oxide, said fluid conduit piece comprising a working fluid zone (9) through which said working fluid flows. The aim of the invention is to prevent the fluid conduit piece and other fluidic devices from being damaged in the event of a spontaneous exothermic reaction in the working fluid. To this end, the fluid conduit piece is provided with an anti-rupture device (1) for the purpose of pressure relief. Said anti-rupture device has a pressure equalizing volume (7) that, once a predetermined rupture pressure is exceeded, can be converted from a normal operation state in which the pressure equalizing volume is separated from the working fluid zone into a rupture state in which the pressure equalizing volume is linked with the working fluid zone.

  • Patent number: 6997249
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluid line member for a modular fluid line system for passing therethrough a crystallizing, heat-sensitive working fluid, such as a synthetic polymer, a cellulose derivative or a solution consisting of cellulose, water and amine oxide. Such working fluids have a temperature-dependent viscosity and are subject to spontaneous decomposition phenomena under strong exothermic reaction. A temperature control of the working fluid is to be made possible by the fluid line member. This is achieved in that the fluid line member has a circular cross-section with a temperature control device instead of the core flow. According to the invention the temperature of the working fluid can thereby be controlled from the inside.
