  • Publication number: 20120325761
Abstract: In one broad aspect, the present invention provides a mounting system (100) for mounting one or more solar panels (S), comprising: a plurality of elongate mounting members (20) adapted to be arranged and secured spaced apart and substantially parallel to one another; and a plurality of anchoring devices (30) for securing each of the mounting members (20) to a support structure, such as a roof structure. Each of the mounting members (20) is adapted to receive and support an edge region (E) of a solar panel (S), such that each solar panel (S) extends between at least two mounting members (20). Furthermore, each anchoring device (30) comprises a footing (31) to be rigidly fastened to the support structure, and a coupling member (35) for connection with a respective one of the mounting members (20). A spacing between the coupling member (35) and the footing (31) is selectively variable by a user to adjust and/or set an elevation (X) of the respective mounting member (20) relative to the support structure.

  • Publication number: 20120031469
Abstract: The invention relates to a support (1) for mounting a solar panel (S), having a bottom part (10) for placement on a substantially flat underlying surface, particularly on a roof; a plurality of walls (20) which extend upwards from the bottom part (10), a plurality of supporting surfaces (26, 28) for laying on the solar panel (S) being provided at the upper sides opposite the bottom part; and fastening means (33, 40) for fastening the solar panel on the supporting surfaces, the fastening means clamping the solar panel (S) against the supporting surfaces (26, 28). Preferably, the fastening means (33, 40) comprise at least one clamping rail (40) which is fitted on a lateral border of the solar panel (S) lying on the supporting surfaces (26, 28), and extends continuously over at least half, preferably at least three-quarters, of the longitudinal dimension of the lateral border of the solar panel.

  • Publication number: 20090142596
Abstract: The process for producing multilayered sheetlike structures, particles or fibers comprises the steps of (a) applying a reactive polycarboxylic acid or one of its derivatives atop a sheetlike, particulate or fibrous carrier material already comprising, or previously provided with, groups reactive toward, capable of covalent bonding with, the polycarboxylic acid or one of its derivatives, (b) if appropriate heating the carrier material treated in step (a) to a temperature in the range from 60° C. to 130° C. and preferably to a temperature in the range from 80° C. to 120° C. to hasten, complete or further optimize the covalent bonds, (c) applying atop the carrier material a cellulose capable of covalent bonding with the polycarboxylic acid or its derivatives.

  • Patent number: 6368587
Abstract: A process for the bioactive coating of the surface of substrates, which entails graft polymerizing at least one vinyl monomer of the formula (I): R—(A)a  (I) in which R is an olefinically unsaturated organic radical, having the valence a, A is a carboxyl group —COOH, sulfuric acid group —OSO2OH, sulfonic acid group —SO3H, phosphonic acid group —OPO(OH)2, phosphoric acid group —PO(OH)2, phosphorous acid group —OP(OH)2, phenolic hydroxyl group or a salt of one of these groups, and a is an integer of from 1 up to and including 6, under radiative induction or thermally on a substrate surface which his been treated beforehand with a macroinitiator having groups which form free radicals in side chains of the polymer framework; with the proviso that a vinyl monomer I in which A is the carboxyl group —COOH or a salt of the carboxyl group contains at least one further radical A having a different one of the definitions specified for A or is used together w

  • Patent number: 6096369
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for making the surface of polymeric substrates hydrophilic, which includes coating the surface of a polymeric substrate with a solution of a macroinitiator, wherein the macroinitiator includes a polymer framework and side chains attached to the polymer framework, and wherein at least one of the side chains includes at least one free-radical-forming group. Optionally, a hydrophilic vinyl monomer or monomers may then be free-radical polymerized or graft polymerized onto the macroinitiator-coated substrate. A crosslinking vinyl monomer may optionally be used together with the macroinitiator or the hydrophilic vinyl monomer. The invention also relates to polymeric substrates having hydrophilic surfaces obtained by the process, and articles that include the hydrophilic polymeric substrates.
