Abstract: A method evaluates key production indicators in a manufacturing execution system (MES). An object oriented tool for modeling a production process is executed in the manufacturing execution system. The modeling includes a definition of plant floor equipment involved in the production process and corresponding MES applications managing the plant floor equipment. A plant performance analyzer tool for calculating the key production indicators on the plant floor equipment is executed. The key production indicators calculated by the plant performance analyzer tool in the object oriented tool are read. The step of modeling the production process includes the definition of a class associated to the key production indicators and including the calculus to be executed by the plant performance analyzer on the plant floor equipment.

Abstract: A client-server inter process communication. A client application and a server application is provided. The client application is registered with a first inter network service module by entering a client port name and a client physical address. The server application is registered with a second inter network service module by entering a server port name and a server physical address. A connection is established between the client application and the server application by the client physical address and the server physical address. The first and second inter network service modules are synchronized. A redundant connection is established between the client application and the server application by means of the redundant client physical address and the redundant server physical address in case a predetermined condition is fulfilled.

Abstract: A computer for managing access of a user to resources having a first database for storing of users and/or of groups of users. One or more script files are generated containing information descriptive of a user resource. A centralized user manager program accesses the first database and the script file(s). A remote computer is coupled to the central computer. Included in the central computer is an application program for accessing a local user management program. The local user management program creates a local resources database for authentication and access right authentication of the user during the login procedure.
