  • Patent number: 11963247
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques at a network provide for efficiently considering parameters of a network slice when determining whether to provide access to the network slice, allow the establishment of a session via the network slice, or grant access to resources for communications via the network slice. Further, the described techniques at a user equipment (UE) provide for efficiently determining when or whether to retry to access a network slice, retry to establish a session via the network slice, or retry to access resources for communicating via the network slice.

  • Publication number: 20240121693
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may transmit a flight path information request that indicates a differential flight path reporting configuration that is associated with user equipment (UE) flight path information associated with a UE. The network node may receive the UE flight path information, the UE flight path information being based at least in part on the differential flight path reporting configuration. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20240107383
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a mechanism to enable interworking between fifth generation system (5GS) network slicing and evolved packet core (EPC) connectivity. In an example, techniques are provided for existing packet data unit (PDU) sessions that provide connectivity to a network slice from a set of network slices. Connectivity to the network slice is in response to a user equipment (UE), that uses network slices, moving between a 5G network and a 4G network. The existing PDU sessions are connected to a dedicated EPC core network that supports the same services provided by the network slice.

  • Publication number: 20240089139
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A multicast architecture may support flexible change between unicast and multicast operations and may support additional traffic types (e.g., Internet Protocol and Ethernet traffic). For example, the multicast architecture may include transmitting data over a shared multicast radio bearer (MRB) and/or specific data radio bearers (DRBs), a multicast user plane function (UPF) for supplying the multicast data to a base station, multicast data from different radio access networks (RANs), protecting the multicast data through creating a group key, ciphering the multicast data sent on the MRB using the group key, and transitioning the multicast data from a source RAN to a target RAN.

  • Patent number: 11910191
Abstract: One aspect relates to initiating, by a device, a connection with an application server associated with one or more application services. A gateway derives an uplink network token and/or a downlink network token. The tokens are provisioned to the device and/or an application server over the user-plane. The tokens are included with uplink and/or downlink packets, respectively. Another aspect relates to receiving a data packet at a gateway. The gateway determines a requirement for a network token from the packet. The gateway derives the network token based on a device subscription profile maintained by a network. The network token may be sent with the packet to a destination address associated with the packet. A packet including a network token may be received at a gateway. The gateway may verify the network token and send the data packet to an application server or a device if the verifying is successful.

  • Patent number: 11908332
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) (e.g., an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)) may receive an approved flight plan including approved flight plan sectors. The UE may also receive a query from a network node, the query including an indication of a subset of the plurality of approved flight plan sectors and a request for a plurality of waypoints of the UE within the indicated subset of the plurality of approved flight plan sectors. The UE may further determine, in response to receiving the query from the network node, a flight path including the plurality of waypoints of the UE for the indicated subset of the plurality of approved flight plan sectors based on the received approved flight plan, and the UE may transmit, to the network node, a flight declaration message including the waypoints of the UE.

  • Publication number: 20230422132
Abstract: In some examples, a user equipment (UE) obtains a connectivity in a first cell, the connectivity comprising a first type of connection that provides access to services in a local data network. The UE camps on a second cell, determines if the connectivity is not supported in the second cell based on broadcast information from the second cell, the broadcast information comprising information of the second cell, and in response to determining that the connectivity is not supported in the second cell, disconnect the connectivity, wherein the disconnecting comprises sending a Non Access Stratum (NAS) message via the second cell.

  • Publication number: 20230319935
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to on-demand ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC) are provided. In one embodiment, a base station (BS) receives, from a user equipment (UE) in a first cell frequency, a request for a protocol data unit (PDU) session over a network slice. The BS receives, from a core network entity, a resource configuration request for the PDU session over the network slice. The BS transmits, to the core network entity, a resource configuration response indicating a cause for rejecting the resource configuration request. In one embodiment, a UE transmits, in a first cell frequency of a network, a network registration request message requesting a network slice of the network that is not provided by the first cell frequency. The UE receives a network registration response message indicating the network slice is allowed based on a second cell frequency of the network providing the network slice requested.

  • Patent number: 11729619
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for a security model for enabling multiple connectivity and service contexts while sharing a single connectivity context to establish a network connection. A context (e.g., connectivity context, service context, security context) is a set of information describing the connectivity, service, or security established between two or more entities. The connectivity context and service context may be established at different network nodes or entities. In one aspect of the disclosure, a connectivity context includes an Evolved Packet System (EPS) Mobility Management (EMM) context or both an EMM context and an EPS Session Management (ESM) context.

  • Publication number: 20230239779
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A public land mobile network (PLMN) may indicate to a user equipment (UE) which network slices are supported by available non-Third Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) interworking functions (N3IWF). The PLMN may provide, to the UE, non-3GPP access node (N3AN) selection information that indicates a set of N3IWFs and a set of supported network slices. The network slices may be indicated via Network Slice Simultaneous Registration Group (NSSRGs) associated with each N3IWF. If a UE is not configured to support NSSRGs, the PLMN may indicate network slices that may be used concurrently and may indicate one or more N3IWFs that support the indicated network slices. The UE may select an N3IWF based on one or more selected network slices. The UE may register with the N3IWF and connect to the N3AN based on an internet protocol address associated with the N3IWF.

  • Patent number: 11710410
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may receive a broadcast remote identification (BRID) message from a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), where the BRID message may include an identity of the UAV. The wireless device may identify UAV information associated with the UAV based on the UAV ID. In some cases, the wireless device may be configured with information that enables the identification of the UAV information. In other cases, the wireless device may request the UAV information from a network entity, such as a UAV flight management system (UFMS), which provides the requested UAV information. In some examples, the UFMS may request the UAV information from an unmanned aerial system (UAS) service supplier (USS) based on the BRID information. Upon identifying the UAV information, the wireless device may broadcast the UAV information to manned aerial vehicles, thereby indicating a presence of the UAV.
