  • Publication number: 20060148501
Abstract: System and method for the registration of a mobile part (MT, OA, HA) in a base station (BS) in a telecommunication system designed for wireless communication between a mobile part (MT, OA, HA) and a base station (BS. The base station and the mobile part are initially placed in an access standby state. Subsequently, a verification procedure determines a message exchange (MA) between the mobile part and the base station if the base station supports a voice-controlled registration and if the mobile part is theoretically connected to the base station. If the theoretical connection is determined, a user channel connection suitable for the transmission of voice data is established between the mobile part and the base station. The mobile part is then either registered in the base station, or the registration attempt is rejected.

  • Publication number: 20060111150
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication terminal having a bandwidth expansion device for expanding the bandwidth of a narrowband voice signal, on a low-frequency and/or high-frequency side, by synthesizing at least one frequency band on the basis of the narrowband voice signal. A qualitatively satisfactory bandwidth expansion is thus performed using a plurality of net bit rates. The bandwidth expansion device is further connected to a memory containing a lookup table comprising at least one parameter value for the bandwidth expansion, for at least two net bit rates of the narrowband voice signal. A method for expanding a bandwidth of a narrowband voice signal having at least two net bit rates in a communication terminal is also disclosed herein.

  • Publication number: 20060067518
Abstract: A communication terminal is provided having a signal reception path which has a bandwidth widening device for artificially widening the bandwidth of a received signal in the communication terminal, a digital/analog converter and a loudspeaker, and includes a signal transmission path, which has a microphone, a transmission path low-pass filter and an analog/digital converter, in which case an echo compensation device is provided between one output of the bandwidth widening device and a connecting point of the signal transmission path, beyond the analog/digital converter with respect to the microphone, and further provides a method for artificially widening the bandwidth of a received signal in a communication terminal.

  • Publication number: 20050276423
Abstract: In order to record and to process audio signals with a good useful-signal to noise-signal ratio in acoustic noise conditions and with a good ratio between the direct sound and the reflected sound in an environment which in particular has no reverberation electrical signals produced by conversion of audio signals recorded by a predetermined microphone arrangement are processed in such a manner that, if the sound pressure levels at the microphones in the microphone arrangement are the same, electrical signals which are produced by these microphones but are of different intensity—different sensitivities of the microphones—are automatically matched, without any manual matching procedures needed to be carried out individually and separately. A microphone arrangement is based on combining the characteristics of an array of microphones with those of a method for matching the sensitivity of microphones.

  • Publication number: 20050226455
Abstract: A combination is provided which consists of a loudspeaker and a display in which at least a portion of a sound-emitting surface of the loudspeaker forms the display that is touch-sensitive, and at least one recognition part is provided for recognizing the touching of the display.

  • Publication number: 20050096002
Abstract: A method and device are provided for suppressing periodic interference signals, including a unit which is used to provide a period length for the periodic interference signal, an interference detection unit for detecting a signal corresponding to the interference signal, and a subtraction unit for subtracting the signal corresponding to the interference signal. The interference detection unit carries out multiple superpositioning of the input signal and scales the multiple superpositioned input signal depending on the period length of the interference signal in order to detect the signal corresponding to the interference signal.

  • Publication number: 20050036629
Abstract: A method and device are provided for the interference elimination of a redundant acoustic input signal of an acoustic reproducing device, such as a mobile phone or a hearing aid, according to which the interference is concentrated in a partial frequency range of a total frequency range of the input signal. The present invention seeks to improve the sound quality of an acoustic output signal produced.

  • Publication number: 20050002534
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to control the bass reproduction of audio signals in electroacoustic transducers based on the psychoacoustic principle denoted by the term “virtual pitch” or “residual hearing (hearing of missing fundamental)”, in such a way that the perception of the virtual bass reproduction of the audio signals is improved in relation to prior art. To this end, the reproduction of the low pitched frequencies or basses released in the electroacoustic transducer is controlled by the amplification of the harmonic waves already contained in the audio signals, in the form of a simulation, in such a way that the listener experiences or perceives an improved bass reproduction.
