  • Patent number: 7311182
Abstract: To make a sealing and guiding packet available to shock dampers in order to minimize or even entirely prevent the negative effects of the so-called stick-slip effect and thus permit greater riding comfort, a sealing and guiding packet is proposed which comprises the following features: a) A cylindrical gasket (6) surrounding an oscillating piston rod (10) and in contact with the latter, which has a first and a second end face (6a, 6b) and a cylindrical mantle surface (6c), b) a cylindrical elastomer element (7) surrounding the ring (6), which has two radially extending flanges (7a, 7b), which thrust the ring (6) resiliently against the end faces, and which [elastomer element] has a radially extending third flange (7c) which biases the ring against the piston rod surface; as well as c) tightening elements (1; 1.1, 1.2, 1.3; 4) which in the working state keep the elastomer element (7) under bias both in the axial and in the radial direction.

  • Publication number: 20060151911
Abstract: A process for in-mold coating and a mold is disclosed. The process entails (i) obtaining a mold having at least two cavities, (ii) molding a thermoplastic substrate in a first cavity, (iii) introducing the substrate into a second cavity, and (iv) coating said substrate with lacquer, the coating being carried out under enhanced pressure.

  • Publication number: 20050230202
Abstract: For a device for the amplitude-dependent absorption of shocks, especially of the wheel of a vehicle, with at least one working piston (3), which is disposed within an absorbing housing (1) and connected with a piston rod (2) and divides the absorbing housing (1) into two absorbing spaces (4, 5) and interacts with a hydraulic element, which is disposed in parallel for affecting small amplitudes and has a space (15) with a dividing element, the space (15) being tied in with hydraulic tie-ins with the absorbing spaces (4, 5), the greatest possible absence of wear and a soft response of the working piston are to be achieved. For this purpose, it is proposed that the dividing element consists of a foamed, elastic material.

  • Patent number: 6793047
Abstract: A hydraulic dashpot comprises, first, a cylinder and a piston. The cylinder (1) is charged with shock-absorbing fluid. The piston (3) is provided with ports and valves, is mounted on one end of a piston rod (2) and divides the cylinder into two chambers. The piston rod travels into and out of the cylinder and is provided with a central bore (20). The dashpot also comprises an adjustable bypass accommodated inside the piston rod or inside an extension (7) thereof. The bypass is provided with radial outlets (19, 23, 37) through the piston rod or extension. The cross-section of the bypass during the compression phase can be established independent of its cross-section during the suction phase and vice versa. There are two valves in the end of the piston rod near the piston or in the piston-rod extension. Each valve is provided with a rotating plunger (18, 21, 32, 33) with a rotary connection. Each plunger operates in conjunction with a radial inlet or outlet (19, 23, 27).

  • Publication number: 20040012121
Abstract: A process for making a fiber reinforced molded article is disclosed. The process entails (i) melting a thermoplastic resin (ii) introducing and homogeneously distributing at least one fiber strands to the molten resin to form a mixture of fibers and molten resin and (iii) molding the article by injection or by compression molding, and (iv) solidifying the article. The process is characterized in that where the fiber strands have a fiber length of 2 to 25 mm and in that the molded article contains fibers the mean length of which is at least 400 &mgr;m. Lastly the process is characterized in that no cooling or solidifying take place between steps (ii) and (iii).
