  • Patent number: 7180440
Abstract: A compact radar device that can be produced with little complication has at least one cavity (3) with a radiation element (10) disposed therein and a shielded chamber (2) for electrical circuits (4). A housing (1) is designed in such a manner that it defines both the shielded chamber (2) for the electrical circuits (4) and the at least one cavity (3) for the at least one antenna radiation element (10). A printed board (5) carries the electrical circuits (4) and is inserted into the housing (1) between the two chambers (2, 3) as a shielding partition. The antenna radiation element (10) is electrically coupled to the two conductor arms to a feed network on the printed board (5) via contact pins (16, 19).

  • Patent number: 7024784
Abstract: The invention is based on a device (10) with a sensor, which is guided with one hand (20, 22) over a surface (14) and in which the data detected are displayed by a display unit (38). The invention proposes that grasping surfaces (40, 42) for the hand (20, 22) be positioned on two approximately diametrically opposed sides of a grip (12), at least one of which sides has a sensor (26, 28, 30, 32) that detects the number of fingers (20, 22) resting against this grasping surface (40, 42).

  • Patent number: 6894510
Abstract: The invention relates to a locator, in particular a handheld locator for detecting inclusions in walls, ceilings and/or floors, having a capacitive sensor device disposed in a housing, having means for generating a detection sensor of the at least one capacitive sensor device, having a control and evaluation unit, communicating with the sensor device, for ascertaining measurement values from the detection sensor, and having an output unit for reproducing measurement values of the capacitive sensor device. According to the invention, it is proposed that a measuring capacitor (16) of the capacitive sensor device (10) has a first electrode (21), which includes one face of the housing (14) of the sensor device (10).

  • Patent number: 6813585
Abstract: A device and a method for determining length, area, and/or volume using a distance measuring device 10 includes a transmit unit 18 and a receive unit 20 in one housing, a keypad 28 for operating the measuring device 10, and an integrated computer 22 for evaluating measured data, and a display panel 26 for displaying the measurement results. The display panel 26 of the measuring device 10—after the operator selects a desired measurement mode by pressing just one button 32 on the keypad 28—uses an icon-based graphic display to indicate which of the individual measurements required to determine the desired measurement variable has yet to be carried out.
