  • Publication number: 20230201946
Abstract: A method for producing workpiece parts from a plate-shaped workpiece in a processing machine or laser processing machine includes positioning and holding the workpiece on a workpiece support by clamping devices. A plurality of workpiece parts are cut out of the workpiece with a process beam. The process beam is moved relative to the workpiece support by a processing head and/or the workpiece is moved relative to the workpiece support by the clamping devices. A cutting process for processing the workpiece to produce the workpiece parts is interrupted at least once by a relaxation step for the workpiece. During the relaxation step at least one clamping device is released to relax the workpiece. The at least one clamping device is closed following the relaxation and before continuing the cutting process. A data processing program and a processing machine for producing the workpiece parts are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220288727
Abstract: A method for transporting workpiece parts out of a cutting area of a laser cutting machine includes: moving a first holding device for holding workpiece parts along a first guide in a transporting direction transverse to a direction of movement of a laser cutting head, and moving a second holding device along a second guide in the transporting direction transverse to the direction of movement of the laser cutting head. First workpiece parts, which are cut within the cutting area from a first half of a workpiece, are transported from the cutting area into the storage area by the first holding device. Second workpiece parts, which are cut within the cutting area from a second half of the workpiece, are transported from the cutting area into storage area by the second holding device. The transportation of the first and second workpiece parts takes place in alternation.

  • Patent number: 6648055
Abstract: A die provided for fixing a porous ceramic insert for producing a light metal component which is reinforced by the insert. For this purpose, the insert is positioned in the die in such a way that any force which occurs for the purpose of fixing the insert is compensated for by a collinear force, which minimizes the bending moments exerted on the insert. Furthermore, shielding elements are used to protect the insert from a casting metal flowing into the die. Furthermore, the invention describes a process in which the velocity of a casting plunger which moves the casting metal into the die is regulated in such a way that the insert is not damaged by the kinetic energy of the casting metal. This is achieved by filling the die at a low velocity until the metal has flowed around the insert. Then, the casting plunger is accelerated, thus ensuring optimum filling of the die with the casting metal.

  • Patent number: 6322608
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a component from an Al2O3/titanium aluminide composite material. To produce the component, a shaped body is pressed from a starting mix of titanium, in particular as an oxide, carbon and/or its precursors, fillers and binders. At a conversion temperature, the shaped body is subjected to a heat treatment in order to form a pressure-stable sacrificial body. In the process, the filler and, if appropriate, the binder is/are also removed by thermal means. The sacrificial body is filled with aluminum and/or an aluminum alloy under pressure. The filling takes place at a filling temperature which is above the conversion temperature. Then, the temperature is reduced to a transformation temperature, the materials of the filled sacrificial body and the aluminum reacting through a solid-state reaction, below the filling temperature, to form an Al2O3/titanium aluminide composite body.

  • Patent number: 6298957
Abstract: A component is made, in regions, of a ceramic-metal composite material. A porous sacrificial body produced from ceramic precursors is filled with softened metal and/or a metallic alloy at a predeterminable filling temperature at or above the softening temperature of the filling metal and under superatmospheric pressure. The filled sacrificial body is heated to or above a reaction temperature which is higher than the filling temperature, where a reaction between the filling metal (FMe) and the metal of the ceramic of the sacrificial body (CMe) is carried out, forming the ceramic-metal composite material comprising a ceramic phase and a metallic phase. The ceramic phase comprises CMemBx and/or CMenCy and/or CMeoCN and FMepO3, and the metallic phase comprises an intermetallic compound of a metal of the ceramic (CMe) and a filling metal (FMe). The sacrificial body is filled with the filling metal (FMe) during pressure casting of the component.

  • Patent number: 6271162
Abstract: A process for producing a ceramic-metal composite, includes (1) mixing TiO2, and optionally Ti, with at least one of a boron-containing or carbon-containing material to give a green body mix; (2) heat treating the green body mix to a temperature from 900° C. to 1900° C. and below a temperature which leads to an autocatalytic reaction; (3) carrying out an exchange reaction between the material and the TiO2 to give a reaction product comprising at least one of TiBx and TiCy, wherein 0≦x 23 2 and 0≦y≦1; (4) producing a porous green body from the reaction product; (5) filling the porous green body with liquid aluminum after the exchange reaction; and (6) carrying out a reaction between the reaction product in the green body and the aluminum to form the ceramic-metal composite comprising a ceramic phase selected from the group consisting of TiBx-, TiCy-, TiCN- and Al2O3 and a comprising a metallic phase comprising an intermetallic compound of Ti and Al.

  • Patent number: 6193928
Abstract: A process for manufacturing ceramic metal composite bodies, the ceramic metal composite bodies and their use. The process is based on molten infiltration and the simultaneous or delayed exchange reaction of ceramic or metal ceramic un-fired bodies or sintered bodies which may consist of nitrides or carbides as well as metals, with molten metal of additional metals, whereby new nitride, carbide and intermetallic phases are formed which have improved wear and high-temperature characteristics. These ceramic metal composite bodies can be used for tribological applications.
