The airbag arrangement comprising airbag inflatable for protecting a vehicle occupant, a gas generator for inflating the airbag, a gas generator carrier at which the gas generator is arranged, a housing part which—with regard to the state of the airbag arrangement installed in the vehicle—covers the airbag towards the vehicle interior. The housing part comprises at least one latching element and the gas generator carrier comprises at least one latching opening assigned to the latching element. The housing part can be connected to the gas generator carrier by inserting the latching element into the latching opening along an insertion direction up to a latching position. The latching element reaches behind a blocking element adjacent the latching opening and connected to the gas generator carrier such that pulling the latching element out of the latching opening is counteracted.

The gas generator is arranged with respect to the gas generator support such that in case of activation the airbag pulls the gas generator onto the gas generator support. The gas generator support has an opening through which the non-inflated airbag is pulled such that a first region of the airbag, which does not surround the gas generator, is located on the one side of the opening and a second region of the airbag, which surrounds the gas generator, is located on the other side of the opening, and the opening is dimensioned such that the gas generator cannot be pulled through the opening.

The holding element is integrally formed with the carrier such that it can be separated from the carrier for releasing the band upon impact of a predeterminable force on the holding element. The motion generating device is configured and provided for blasting off the complete holding element from the carrier for releasing the band.

Abstract: A vehicle steering is provided having a steering wheel skeleton, which is at least partially coated with steering wheel foam and which includes a steering wheel rim and multiple steering wheel spokes, an air bag module, including a module casing and a module cover, the module cover faces a driver of a vehicle when the steering wheel is installed in the vehicle, electrical contact means to trigger a vehicle horn, fastening means designed on the module casing for the floating bearing of the module casing on the steering wheel, and pivoting means, which are designed on the module casing and are arranged spaced apart from the fastening means. The module casing can be pivoted relative to the steering wheel skeleton, and the electrical contact means are closed upon pivoting the module casing. The pivoting means, designed on the module casing, are mounted in the steering wheel foam of the steering wheel.

Abstract: The invention relates to a generator support for a driver air bag module to be mounted in the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. The generator support includes at least one fastening area for fastening a gas generator to the generator support and at least two horn contacts that can be brought into electrical contact with each other in order to trigger an acoustic horn signal in a mounted state of the generator support together with the driver air bag module in a motor vehicle. In one form, one of the horn contacts is electrically grounded in the mounted state of the generator support and the fastening area is adapted and positioned relative to the grounded horn contact in such a manner that, when the gas generator is fastened to the fastening area of the generator support as prescribed, an electrical contact is established between the grounded horn contact and the gas generator.

Latching elements are provided to hold the plate and the airbag connected thereto, and to hold the fastening portion of the gas generator situated between the generator support and the plate. The plate, at least in the region of these latching elements, is larger than the external dimensioning of the folded airbag in the region of the inflation opening.

Abstract: The invention relates to a generator support for a driver air bag module to be mounted in the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. The generator support includes at least one fastening area for fastening a gas generator to the generator support and at least two horn contacts that can be brought into electrical contact with each other in order to trigger an acoustic horn signal in a mounted state of the generator support together with the driver air bag module in a motor vehicle. In one form, one of the horn contacts is electrically grounded in the mounted state of the generator support and the fastening area is adapted and positioned relative to the grounded horn contact in such a manner that, when the gas generator is fastened to the fastening area of the generator support as prescribed, an electrical contact is established between the grounded horn contact and the gas generator.
