  • Patent number: 10695701
Abstract: A fuel filter has a housing having an intake and an outlet. A filter element is arranged in the housing such that a filtered area is separated seal-tightly from an unfiltered area. A flow passage is provided between the unfiltered area and the filtered area. A porous filter member closes off the flow passage, wherein the porous filter member is arranged seal-tightly on a wall arranged about the flow passage. The filter element has a filter medium and a geodetically upper and a geodetically lower terminal disks arranged at end faces of the filter medium. The filter medium is connected seal-tightly to the terminal disks. The flow passage is arranged in the geodetically upper terminal disk that forms the wall.

  • Patent number: 8801928
Abstract: A fuel supply device (1), particularly for an internal combustion engine (6), is equipped with a particulate filter and a water trap. In order to improve the separation effect, while simultaneously reducing the separation material that is required, it is proposed to configure the water trap (5, 8, 30) as a separate component connected downstream of the fuel filer (4) and to provide it with a first separation stage made of coalescent material and a second separation stage made of hydrophobic material, and to dispose the separation stages such that between them the fuel is diverted.

  • Patent number: 8287727
Abstract: A filter element in a fuel filter has an annularly arranged filter medium that is sealed at the end faces by end plates wherein a venting unit for venting gases out of the filter element area is provided. The venting unit comprises a securing ring that clamps, in the mounting position, a filter body, wherein in the securing ring a through opening as well as additionally an expansion opening are provided.

  • Patent number: 7938963
Abstract: A fuel filter system, particularly a diesel filter, including a housing, a particle filter arranged in the housing, and a coalescer element mounted on the particle filter. Fuel passes successively through the serially connected coalescer and particle filter. The coalescer element improves the separation of any water contained in the fuel to be filtered, while exhibiting no or no significant fuel-filtering properties.

  • Publication number: 20100206800
Abstract: A water separator for a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine has a housing with an inlet and an outlet for fuel and further has a separating chamber and a collecting chamber for collecting water. The separating chamber is arranged above the collecting chamber. A separating element is arranged in the separating chamber, wherein the separating element has a first separating stage and a second separating stage. The first separating stage has a hydrophilic filter medium. An element with a plurality of through openings surrounds the hydrophilic filter medium. The element forms an outlet contour and generates downstream of the hydrophilic filter medium and the element droplets of water separated from the fuel.
