    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a locking mechanism for a tablet computer, the locking mechanism comprising at least three locking plates having an open position and a locked position, wherein when the locking plates are in the locked position, the first tablet half of the tablet computer is coupled to the second half of the tablet computer. The locking plates enable the tablet computer to have a thinner bezel than conventional tablet computers which facilitates repair of the tablet computer.
